First of all - YAYYYYY!!! I know it doesn't make sense, but this really helps with my anxiety re returning to work because now I don't have to worry about cleaning taking precious time away from my family.
Okay, questions -
-- I know we've talked about this before, but what should I do with our dogs? They're small (13 and 20 pounds) and generally friendly, but they will jump on you when you first get there. Also, they like to attack the vacuum cleaner
The problem with kenelling them is that we have such a small house, the kennels would take up major floor space and block areas that need cleaned (make sense?) Any thoughts or ideas?
-- Do you tip every time? Growing up I think my mom just did at Christmas, but I don't know if that was/ still is the norm. She sounds like she's willing to do a lot for a good price, so I want to be fair.
Thanks!
Re: Just hired a cleaning person! And some questions. . .
Does the cleaning person like dogs? How did she react to them when she came out to give you a quote? Our cleaning lady loves dogs and so Bailey hangs out with her while she cleans. She does jump on her when she comes in but clams down right away. If you don't want the kennel taking up space maybe she could put them in a room and shut the door while she cleans and then do that room last and let them out? I only tip at Christmas.

I totally understand how this helps relieve your anxiety. It is a HUGE help and hours of your week that you're getting back!
We don't have animals, so I don't know how to help you with that.
Our cleaning lady cleans every 2 weeks and we pay her $100 each time. The cleaning session right before Christmas, we pay her $200. That's the only time we tip her.
It is a huge help. Good for you!
Our dog pretty much stays out of her way. When she's cleaning upstairs, he stays downstairs and when she's downstairs he's upstairs. As long as she has met the dogs and is OK with them, they will figure something out between them.
We tip her at Xmas by giving her double her regular fee and when we go on vacation we give her 1/2 her fee for that week that we are gone (kind of like vacation pay for her). She comes every other week and we always go away for 2 weeks so once a year she misses a week.

I
our cleaning service. I don't know how I lived without them! Such a huge stress relief.
We don't have dogs so I can't help you there. Our cats just hide.
We tip at Christmas and we tip when we don't have time to straighten up before they come. I always leave snacks for them though and they seem to really appreciate it.
We have the same 2 ladies come every time.
maybe ask your cleaning person what they would suggest about the dogs? if she is comfortable around animals then you probably dont need to worry about it. we have 2 cats, one of which acts like a dog and attacks the vacuum cleaner -- it's not a problem because our cleaning lady has pets of her own so she understands.
we only tip at christmas (double normal fee)
that is great that you got some cleaning help -- it is the best thing i ever did!!!
