DH and I are thinking about getting this done. I have found a place that does it for a great price and, has also been recommended as a place to get it done. Just wondering what your thoughts are on it?? Did you love it?? Was it worth it??? Would you do it again??
Re: 3D U/S are they worth it??
I went to the one for my brother's baby and it was awesome, the cool thing was you could have up to 15 people come to it so he invited me, his wife's sister and both grandmas it was such a neat experience especially for the grandmas who didn't have anything like it when they were pregnant.
We are definitely doing it, plus it is so fun to see LO
OMG Yes!! We had it done with DS at 26 weeks and LOVED it!! It was like $150 and we got the 3D images on CD, some printed, and a 15 minute 4D video. It was great because we were able to bring 5 ppl total (aside from me of course), so my parents and in-laws were able to experience it also. I did have an anterior placenta so the images weren't as great as they would otherwise be, but they were still pretty good!
We're definitely going to do it again this pregnancy. I can't wait!!
My doctor said there was no medical reason to do it, and insurance will not cover it. (He likened it to going to Olan Mills for portraits or something).
My H and I think they're sort of creepy looking, so I'd never pay my own money to get one done if there's not a medical reason for having one.
DH and I did go to get a 3D done at a local place at about 22/23 weeks. When we got there the woman was WONDERFUL! It was such a relaxing experience compared to the awful 20 week u/s we had another office. There was no medical reason for the 3D but at our 20 week and u/s tech was AWFUL and RUDE so she did not tell us much of anything and I was dying to know what we were having!!!
In the beginning, the 3D images freaked me out, but once I got in there and saw my LO moving around and the facial features that looked exactly like mine, I would have paid three times the amount to have that moment! Not to mention we got 3D pics, thermal pics, a cd with everything on it, a DVD of the entire thing, and a picture frame with LOs heartbeat recorded on it! We got in on a "Father's Day Special" so all that for $60.... I'll do it again with the next one for sure! GL!
