O.M.G. are they horrible, seriously isn't 10 months too young to throw temper tantrums.
Austin throws them all day long. Whenever I tell him No or take something away that he shouldn't be playing with. He starting screaming like someone is trying to kill him, throws himself on the floor.
Oh and he loves to throw them in public especially when we are out to dinner! How embarrassing!!!
Please tell me I am not alone in this.
Re: Temper Tantrums
A close friend's little boy did this, but he was older when it started I do believe.
When I was a toddler, I held my breath until I turned blue and passed out when I got angry. It scared my grandpa once, and he spanked me. I never ever did it again.
Good luck, and I'm sorry that it's happening out in public.
My DS has a horrible temper. He acts as if I just beat him to death when I tell him "no." I had someone accuse me of beating him in a Target beacause he was screaming so bad when I said, "no candy." The manager at Target checked the video cameras to see if I really hit him or not before deciding if he should call the police on me for child abuse (I didn't hit him, he got that hysterical when I told him no.)
I have no advice. Sorry he is acting up, hopefully it is just a phase!
When I was little, my aunt & uncle nicknamed me Little Linda Blair (from the Exorcist) So, far, in many ways, Lil Miss is her mother's daughter, and certainly has not dissapointed when it comes to temper tantrums.
The worst one was when she refused to get in her car seat outside of Sesame Place in 95' weather. I just had to sit there (I was alone) and try to hold her in the parking lot, screaming, for over 45 minutes. Very public, and not many options. I just wanted the parking lot to open up and swallow me. So, I feel your pain.
I will say, if, when the situation allows, you can walk away or remove him to a quiet place until he is calm, that usually helps cut it short. We did this pretty consistently and the TT are seeming to get fewer.
Good news is that it is a phase, so they will out grow it. And everyone else with kids has been through it. :::hugs:::
He usually just cries for a few more minutes getting louder and louder and then eventually stops and is as happy as can be.
