We're going out to San Diego at the end of the month, flying on Southwest. We got DD her own seat b/c I couldn't imagine holding a squirmy 20 month old for 4 hours. I figured she'd be much more comfy and liable to fall asleep in her carseat. DH just flew out to Baltimore on SW and said there were tons of toddlers w/ no carseat and he doesn't think the seats are big enough for it (she has a Britax Boulevard). I say he's insane. So, has anyone taken their seat on SW?

Re: Has anyone flown Southwest lately with their convertible carseat?
I work for SW.
You will be fine. Just put the armrests up and ask for a belt extension.
Your LO will be much more comfortable in her carseat than in the oversized seat.
GL!
I flew with DD in a car seat at the end of December, but we use a Cosco Scenera for traveling, and it's pretty light weight and not bulky.
We had no problems with it. My SIL flew SW with my nephew all of the time in his Britax Wizard, and I think the size is comparable to a Boulevard. She had no issues.
I've brought my Boulevard on SW with no problems. Almost all convertible carseats are FAA approved, which means they have to fit in the seat
I think most of the people who dont bring seats on the plane for their toddlers either dont realize they should (and yes, they should because it's safer), checked the seat at the ticket counter because they thought it was too much of a hassle to bring it to the gate, or didnt bring a car seat with them at all and plan on borrowing/renting/buying one at their destination.
Bring it. You will not regret it
