I'm originally from Spain (La Furia Roja!!) and my DH is American so the trash talking has already begun...we're both hoping that at least one of the teams goes the distance!!!
I've never been into soccer before, but I think it's cool how big its become and hoping that it catches on more here in the states. I started coaching high school soccer this past year (not by choice!) but actually ended up really liking it. Now that I understand it better, I plan to watch the world cup. DH is VERY excited, but this is the only time of year he really follows soccer. He actually bought me FIFA world cup on the PS3 to teach me the rules before I started coaching. It worked! (And gave him a good excuse to buy a new game!)

That's actually really brilliant!! I wonder if I played Madden I'd finally understand football!!!

I've heard madden is hard to play! My DH refuses to try to teach me, even though I understand football. The best way to learn football is to watch it and listen to the commentary! Yes, hubby thought he was brilliant! (and sneaky!)
