PR: Switching Hospitals and Doctors...Help Please

So My H and I have to move, by the end of July, we may have possibly found a place that fits our budget and our space needs, and it is close to my family which would be extremely helpful when the new baby comes, especially since my Sister is a SAHM and my Mom is retired, as is my Aunt, all would be within 10 minutes of us and If/when H goes back to work it would eliminate the need for day care at least for the Baby and for DD, who would go part time.

Only problem is it is about an hour from both my Hospital and My OB.  I am willing to switch if this place works out but my concern is that I will not be able to find a doctor who will take me at 33 to 36 weeks pregnant ( depends on when we move)

 Any advice, thoughts, has anyone done this...Help Please!!

    I don't see a problem with it. How close are you to the Dr. and the Hospital now? I would much rather be closer to family than worry about the hospital because it's only a few days there. Just make sure your bags are packed. LOL.

    I switched at 31 weeks when I decided that I would rather be 3 minutes from home in case DH needs to go back to help with DS.  I think most OB's wouldn't have a problem taking you. Just make sure you request your medical records from your previous OB far enough in advance.  It took mine over a week to get it sent out.

    I know someone who switched that late in pregnancy and everything went well!

    We are about 10 minutes away now...my Biggest concern is going to the doctor, Once my every week appointments start I would have to drive 30 minutes the opposite direction, and then an hour back to my house, once a week, it is only temporary I guess but it would be a huge PITA.

    It is all what if right now since we are going to see the place this weekend but I want to have a plan in place so that if it works out and we want to live there, I can just get it all taken care of right away.

    A new doctor will take you - they'll just need your records transfered over so that they can get the full picture of how your pregnancy went.
