My dilemma is that some days DD just wants to cry and cry and cry and I cannot find time to get ready for the day. She hates her swing/bouncer/floor playground thingy - all of it. On those days that she just wants to be held, how do you get ready?? They are usually days that we have a doctors appt. or have to be somewhere at a specific time. I hate just setting her down to cry for a few minutes but sometimes I think that might be the only option. How did you deal with this?
Re: I need SP how-to help
I just have to let DD cry in her crib for a couple minutes and get ready as quick as I can. This is why my hair is never done, I rarely wear makeup anymore, and I always get to where I'm going at the last minute. As long as you make sure she's been fed and has a dry diaper on it's okay to let her fuss while you get things done sometimes.
Your other option would be to get up earlier while she's still sleeping to get some things done, and make sure her diaper bag is packed the night before etc.
Maybe try some kind of carrier/wrap or put some music or the television on, just something to distract. What kind of swing do you have? DD loved her swing, but at that age she liked the setting that went side to side.
Good luck, I would love to tell you that it gets "easier", but I am not sure if it does. Now DD "brushes her teeth" while I shower. She has to pull the curtain back at least 4 times to show me and I get out to a huge water mess, but at least I get to shower...lol
