Cramps?

Can we talk about whats normal and whats not? Please. I had a pinchy/twingy feeling all week since bfp. And today I had AF type cramps. Now, some spotting.

I had AF type cramps throughout the first tri- it was actually quite painful and I ended up on bedrest for the last 1 week because of it (with some spotting at 10+ weeks).

I've had that too, but I would call just in case. My drs rule was to always call if I had spotting and any cramping.

I had the same twingy feelings on my left side all throughout my fourth week of pregnancy. I got an ultrasound to rule out ectopic and it turned out I had a big cyst on my ovary where I ovulated. The ultrasound tech even said "Oh wow, that looks painful." And I had spotting on and off, too, because of a subchorionic hematoma. It sucks. But I'd definitely call your doctor if you're having pain on one side or if the spotting doesn't stop. Maybe the doc can help ease your mind with some additional betas or an early ultrasound--that's what they're there for, right? I hope you feel better and the spotting stops!!

Both can be totally normal, but I'm sorry you're having them since for us they cause significant anxiety. I hope it's your ute stretching and LO settling in for a nice, long stay.

OMG girl! I missed your news!

I had serious AF cramps during week 5 or 6. I was convinced I was going to see lots of blood at any second. The OB said it was just my body preparing for the pregnancy. Try not to worry (I know that is NOT easy).

Oh, I had some bleeding too, around week 8. Bright red. It was nothing.

I had cramps early on and then cramps and spotting at 7 weeks. I went in to the ER and was dx with a subchorionic hematoma.

I'm totally praying that your LO is snuggling in and just scaring the crap out of you early.

I'm sorry you're having to worry! I think cramping is very normal. I would call about the spotting, to ease your mind if nothing else!

I had twingie cramps and general tightening - I wouldn't call them just like AF, but they were definitely there. I also had bright red bleeding in my 6-7 weeks. Baby girl is doing awesome.

Get it checked out - but remember it's not always bad.

I had AF like cramps off and on for the whole 1st trimester. Around 5 weeks, I had bright red spotting and painful cramps. I was sure something was terribly wrong then the cramping went back to premenstrual and the spotting to brown.

I'm so sorry, Emma. I know how scary both spotting and cramping can be. And everyone says it's normal, but you still worry. Hang in there and hugs to you! LO is probably just getting nice and cozy for a long stay.

I also had some cramps very early on. And a little bit of spotting. It turned out to be nothing.

Oh Emma, my heart dropped when I saw this post.

How much spotting are you having? when you wipe only or more?

I did cramp a lot with this pregnancy. I actually think I had a cyst on my left ovary. But, they couldn't see my left ovary on my first u/s. By the time the could see my left ovary, there was nothing there. So was never able to prove it.

I had light spotting with DD at 10 weeks and 20 weeks that turned out to be nothing.

Hugs honey. HUGE HUGE Hugs. Are you having any more betas this week? Your betas look so good out of the gate. Thoughts and prayers for you that little one is just getting super deep and snuggly in there.

I have had a lot of cramps so far. And I had some bright red spotting around week 8 or so. So far, so good. Knock on wood.

But like everyone said, call your doc to reassure yourself.

Congrats on your BFP! I had cramps from 4w to 13w and spent every day worrying about it. There were many, many times I would go to the bathroom and exptect to be bleeding. But I never had any spotting. My cramps were very twingy, almost a buring sensation on the right and left side of my stomach. I was put on prometrium at 7w and my cramps never got any better. I got to the point though where I would be scared if I wasn't cramping!

Congratulations on your BFP!

The first week or two, I definitely had AF type cramps. I remember being in a store and stopping and telling my husband that it felt like AF was coming. That happened several times. I felt it a lot in the middle of the night too. It would wake me up.

Also, I spotted for the first 7-10 days.
