  • Around here, it would be an emergency (someone broke down on the road, needing a phone) if someone was knocking that early, so I would.

Yes but only because we wake up at 5:30 at my house.

Possibly - could be a neighbor with an emergency.

  • Only if DH was home (and still we'd probably peek out the window to see who it was first).

I wouldnt answer if I was home alone.  If it was family/friend/neighbor etc who needed something they would know to call my cell.

  • Whenever I am alone in my house, regardless of the time, I always answer the door... but here's what I do - my front door is always locked, I come out the back door, and walk around the house to the front.

Hahahaaaaa!   Let me clarify... I called Miss Utility because DH refused to.  So there are five units that have to come out and take a look at the land, I want to extend my backyard eight feet with new new fencing that DH is putting in. Water, sewer, gas, electric, and cable all have to come out and mark the land. I am NOT getting my lazy ass out of bed to answer the door for them.  They have both phone numbers and an email address, they shoulda used them!

  • Are you coming for coffee? I would like to know the reason for asking me such a personal question?

Yes i would and I would be dressed like this!image

I am home alone during the week.  DH commutes to D.C. from N.Y.

    Hahahaa, that's GREAT!!!

  • I wouldn't want to, but the dog would be flipping out, so I probably would.
  • Probably not.  We'd look out the window and see who it was, but just about anyone who would have an emergency has our phone #.

I too do not answer the door when DH is gone.

  • i wouldn't - but I would certainly wake up my husband to, who would answer the door with his mini-baseball bat (which he calls a shilealegh (sp?) in his hand.

A couple months ago I was awake on the couch watching tv at ~2:30 in the morning when someone flashed a flashlight through the window next to my front door.  I knew they could see me so I shooed them away.  They didn't leave.  So the dog and I went to the door (no idea where I got the courage).  It turned out to be a cop who was trying to tell me that our garage door was wide open.  Scared the crap out of me.
  • No, because I'm usually at work at 6:30 in the morning.  At least on the weekdays.

  • Heck no.  I never answer unless DH is home, and even then, not all the time.
