How thick is your Bassinet Mattress

My bassinet was delivered the other day and I was disappointed at how thin the "mattress" is.  Its soft but is probably only about an inch thick.  And to make my life more difficult - the mattress is oval and none of the sheets I received at my shower fit the mattress - they are all too big.

Called Summer Infant - the manufacturer - and they said they dont sell extra sheets - to go to either sweet peas heirlooms or sheetworld for additional sheets.

    About an inch or two.

    It isn't soft though.

    mines about that thick, and oval too..i dont have extra sheets for it, but what i always did for DS was lay a recieving blanket down and tuck it in, so if he spit up the actual mattress wasnt harmed.

    Sounds pretty similar to mine. It's a carter's bassinet. I bought 2 knit bassinet sheets made by Gerber for $6.99 each from BRU yesterday and they fit snugly. HTH!

    Mine is about an inch as well. Its funny too because last night I realized the sheets I have are oval and won't fit my mattress. We should just trade!

    Mine is thin as well. I actually used a foam mattress pad & cut it to the oval shape of the bassinet mattress for some extra cushion under it. I bought my sheets from BRU and they work great. The extra thickness helps them fit too in my opinion.

    mine's about that thick too - remember you want a "firm" surface for baby to sleep on because of SIDs and everything. My sister has the same cradle and mattress and both of her kids have been just fine. As for the oval sheets, go to BRU, they have them.
