Pregnant after a Loss

A little update on me

So I have been having lots of swelling for the past couple of weeks and had my Dr appt Tuesday.  She is quite concerned that my cankle issue is out of control at too early in the stage of pregnancy.  My feet swell over 3 - 4 times the size they are by then end of the day and when I wake up in the morning they are still swollen to about twice the size.  My BP is still good right now though.  She had a ton of blood tests drawn, a meal glucose test and urine tests done yesterday.  I go back next week to see her again however during my appt she said if I can't get this under control a little then I am bedrest bound.  She warned me to keep a close eye on preterm labor signs and if I don't feel the baby move for more than an hour to head to the hospital.

After discussing with my boss he feels that once we hire my replacement (interviews today and tomorrow) that I need to start working 1/2 days here and 1/2 from home for a while then full time from home in maybe a month.  I am so grateful he is a great boss and being proactive to what the Dr is likely to tell me in a few weeks.

Mine are worse than the pic below Ick!

Re: A little update on me

  • Sounds like bedrest is definitely the way to go, and I'm glad your dr. is supportive.

  • Yikes about the cankles.  That and bedrest sounds like no fun.  But, I'm so glad your boss is so accomodating!  Definitely helps to have him on the same page towards bringing home a happy, healthy baby.

He said the most important thing is bringing home a healthy baby, seriously having a male boss that gets it is such a relief.

  • Uggh, Toni. I feel for you. Are you one who normally retains water during PMS? I had the exact same problem w/ DD and I had low BP (80/60 is normal for me). You're doc sounds great. Mine didn't sign me out of work or anything. She just told me to keep my feet elevated. However, she didn't tell me that to be truly elevate, your feet need to be elevate to above your head so that never made a difference. GL! I hope the swelling gets under control. It's awesome your doc and boss are so proactive!

It not that they hurt so much during the day but it's like a tightness feeling that creeps up my calfs but by the end of the day the do hurt quite a bit.  I am finding at night that I somehow flex my foot during my sleep giving myself a charlie horse in my calf that makes me want to scream in the middle of the night.
