  • I've always wondered the same thing.

  • For tops, they seem about the same to me. For bottoms, 2T is slimmer cut while 24mo allows room for a diaper.

  • I remember shopping with my sister for my nephew/neice and I think 2T is bigger than 24 mo...I could be wrong but I think that's rigth, it goes 2, 2T, 3, 3T............

  • 24 months is for a diaper on the bottom.

2T tops are slimmer for skinnier kids.

  • I thought 24 months was like the carters sizing where 24 months is actually 18-24 months...like their 18 monts size is really 12-18 months.

  • 2T seems to be a tad longer.  24m pants are floods on DD, but she's still good in 2T.
  • I think 2T is a slimmer, longer cut.  24 months still allows for bulky diapers and baby chunk. :)

  • I'm more confused now than I was before this thread.
  • It also depends on the brand.  Old navy 2T fits DS, but Gap 2T for some reason is HUGE on him.

  • Carter's 24 month shirts are too small on DS, but the onesies fit fine.

2T in Kids Korner, Circo, Osh Kosh and Old Navy fit DS now. Most are already getting too short because of shinkage.

2T in Gymboree, Crazy 8 and Boden are way big on DS.

For pants, DS is generally in 18 months, but I'm starting to pull out the 2Ts that have adjustable waists. His 12-month shorts still fit.

    I have never seen a 2 or 3 only 2t and 3t. but 2t is slimer than 24 months

  • To me, they seem the same, but it depends more on the brand name.  It always amazes me how some brands always run so much bigger than others.

  • It has nothing to do with diaper or no diaper.

24 months is 18-24 (as in, the size before 2T).  2T is for 2-3 year olds, 3T is for 3-4 year olds, etc.  Of course, if you have a smaller or larger child, the size won't coordinate perfectly with age, but that is true of all infant/toddler clothes, beginning at birth (i.e. NB size won't fit ALL newborns, and a baby might start wearing 3-6 months before they are actually 3 months old).
