Babies: 3 - 6 Months

breastfeeding/swaddle

This is a two part post.  I would like to stop breastfeeding totally.  I am currently only feeding DS only once a day......maybe.  It is usually the first feeding sometimes @ 1am, sometimes @ 3am.  Just whenever he wakes up.  I was hoping for some pointers on what to do.  I have heard to decrease feedings but is that it?

Also, my DS is almost 5 mos old and we are still swaddling at night.  He sleeps really well.  Without the swaddle he will sleep for a couple of hours then his arms start to fly and he wakes up and it is tough for him to fall back asleep if he will even go back down.  Any tips?  He just rolled over and I would hate for him to roll in the crib and be strapped up in his straight jacket.

Thanks!

Re: breastfeeding/swaddle

  • Sometimes things are a pain or inconvientient but we do them cuzz they need to be done.  If your worried about him needing his arms then accept that for a week or so he may be a little bit or a pain (poor sleeper).

On the BF front, if your on BF once per day then at this point just stop doing that.  You can't really cut down any more than you already have.
