I met a girl at a party the other day and her name was Candy. All I could think of is, "that is a hooker's name". Then I thought back and realized that I went to school with a girl named Candy also (maybe it is spelled Kandy though, can't remember).

I just want to know what parents name their child Candy. Hopefully this isn't too harsh for anyone who may have or like that name, but it is definitely NMS!

    I wouldn't name my kid Candy, I also agree it sounds like a stripper name.

    Are you sure her full name isn't Candace?  I know a couple of people named Candace and go by "Candy".  It's really not that uncommon.

    I guess its short for Candace which isn't awful, but Candy is a total stripper name.  Name her Candy Cane and its straight to porn at 16.
    I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

    I think the same about Candy, but I do like Candace... the only Candy that I know was named Candace and went by Candy as a nickname.

    My friend's wife's name is Kandie. It's not short for anything, and she's really sweet and totally NOT stripper-esque. But I think it might be short for Kandace.

    This made me laugh because it's soooo true! I think most Candace's are tending to be called Candace now rather than Candy. Candace is not a bad name.

     lol! This totally made me laugh. And you ladies are right, Candace isn't a bad name at all. The girl I grew up with was actually named Kandy, but the girl at the party I don't know, it could have just been a nn. Candy just doesn't sound right on an adult to me (or a kid for that matter..lol).

     

    And vflipo: Gilbert, cool! Small world. I can't believe how freaking hot it is getting!
