PT, classroom stuff, cleaning, marching, stand around getting yelled at, reading manuals, getting yelled at some more, pushups, uniform issue, learning to wear the uniform, standing around for hours on end while they try not to move a muscle.
cool... go check out MN. I just gave some basic info. If you want more specific answers narrow down the question for me and I'll do my best to give you some info.
You might try checking out their post website, when DH was at Benning, they had it broken up in phases and gave a brief run down on what they were doing.
I know one thing that helped me was to write letters, even though I didn't have an address, and I numbered the outside so he could open them in order. I think he ended up with 14 letter that he got all at one time, but it helped share what was going on at home and what he was going through.

DH is graduating from Navy basic this week, I'm flying out tomorrow to see him.
For me the first two weeks SUCKED! It was really hard, and I'm sure the pregnancy hormones didn't help. Write him letters that you can mail as soon as you get the address. Just to let him know that you are thinking of him, but keep them positive. I know the first week was hard on my DH and those letters and the first phone call really helped him. He said that he wanted to come home that first week, but he is so glad he stuck it out (well not that he had a choice!).
I know there are some youtube videos of Navy boot camp, I'm sure there is something similar for the Army. It was cool to see where he was and what types of things he was doing.
Just remember it gets easier to deal with as time passes and you realize it's just your new way of life.
The videos you will find on YouTube of Army IET Soldiers are from AIT - after basic. If you have any quesions feel free to PM me.. I'm pretty sure I can answer whatever you might want to know. :-)
Where is your DH at? Mine was at Ft. Jackson for Basic. The first week it's basically a lot of PT and standing around for hours on end. They're getting hair cuts and shots and countless other things. He should be able to call you today/tonight. The fun begins after all the in-processing is done. They'll be in their barracks and on a pretty set schedule. They're going to go in the gas chamber, throw grenades, shoot M-16s...and they'll run and run and run and run. And then run some more with pushups thrown in there. Plus theres the obstacle course (my DH loved that) and there will be a couple "field trips" where they're staying outside playing "war."

He is waking up early. Doing PT at least 6 days a wk. Getting yelled at. Training all day. His day is controlled completely by his Drill Sergent's. I went to BCT in 2008 and it was hard, but I never regretted it I loved it. He will probably not be able to call you much my cell got taken away a week after I arrived there and was taken to our barracks. Now a days I heard some BCT companies are letting soldiers keep their cell phones, but I doubt it. If his platoon is well behaved like mine was we got to use our phones on Sundays.

It depends on what phase they are in. During red phase most will have access to their phones for a limited time on Sundays, White & Blue phase time and access increases. We try to limit their contact so they don't get the "oh poor poor me" attitude from their family back home.
I have found my best friend! haha, my SO will be home in 3 weeks from basic, i swear the first 3 and the last 3 will be the worst. I never ventured to this board, but im glad I did tonight. I thought this was only for women who's DH/SO were deployed...well that shows how much I know....

Don't worry, he's fine.
Are you sure? That sounds like a PITA. I don't like that at all but it's not like I can do anything about it.
okay... I asked this on MN where you posted the same thing..
What branch???
Yeah, I did post the same thing. I thought no one was going to reply here so I figured I would ask over there.
Army.
