  • Have you narrowed it down to your top 5 (or more) or are you still hoping for suggestions?

  • we really don't even have contenders.

My choice is Margaux.  he is afraid people will call her "margie".

his choice is Angelina--I don't like angie as a nn and I know it will be that.

    so we are stuck.

we have a very italian last name so we're trying to have something that flows with that.

My niece is Margeaux and she doesn't get "Margie."  I wouldn't worry about that one.  Also, I have a Margot on my dance team and everyone calls her Mar.  Not Margie.

  • How about Sophia, Elisa, Lorena, Caterina?  As for the names you have already picked, I wouldn't elimiate a nice name just because of possible nicknames.
  • My friend just got back from Italy and her babies name is Isabella. I thought she said Eastabelle at first, which is still cute.

  • Since you already have Sophia (which I picked for our baby if a girl with Italian last name! Go figure!)

How about Sonja? Or Sonia? It goes with her siblings name. I like Arianna, Liliana, Elana, Selina. Your picked name is NMS as I like names that ends in A. :) Goodluck! Hope you decide on something soon!

  • For what it is worth, one of my best friends is Margaux (spelled like this too) and the only nn she ever gets in Margs, but most of the time people call her by her full name.  I do not think you have to worry about her getting a nn that you do not like, what ever you call her others will too.

    Gia or Giada?
    I really like those too.
  • Gianna? Nina? Mia?

  • If your last name is obviously Italian, I probably wouldn't go with an obviously French name like Margeaux.

My faves that previous posters have said: Mia or Giada!

  • good suggestions, thank you! :)

love Mia, but it's my niece's name and Gabriella is my cousin's name.

naming a person is so tough! ;)

  • Hmmm...maybe Alena?

    Claire

I know it is popular right now...but Isabella would be pretty.

  • I really like Angelina! If you don't want people calling her Angie, then just correct them. They'll eventually catch on.

Margo (spelled this way) is cute, but with your french spelling it would look awkward with an italian ln.

  • My top girls names I like are :

    - Isabella

    - Isadora

    - Daelynn

    - Adalira

    - Idaleah

    - Alexa

    and Kara

of course there are not many people with my name (Kitina).

Good luck picking a beautiful name to suit your daughter.

    Hi minnas! It's newly :)

I was going to suggest Olivia but I see you keep coming back to Margaux so I think it's meant to be. You just need to persuade DH ;)
