Pump Help

I had latch issues in the beginning so I rented a hospital grade pump.  I have to take it back tomorrow!  I EBF and only pump 2-3 times a day after nursing if I still feel like I have a decent amout of milk.

I have a Medela manual pump but that thing kills my arm.  Do you think I will be fine with that or should I buy something else.  If so what is ideal for me?  I will only be pumping about 1 or 2 times a day if that.

Re: Pump Help

  • Will you be going back to work? If so, I'd suggest you get an electric double pump. I have a Medela PISA, and I like it a lot.

  • Well, I think you answered your own question b/c the manual pump is hurting your arm. There are a lot of different electric ones out there, though, and you could even look at buying one used and just buying new tubes, flanges, etc. The PISA I have is almost $300 but BRU has sales on them all the time.

  • you can rent one from hospital but if you plan to pump longer buy one. 2-3 times a day is lot of times. do'nt forget to buy a hands free bra along with electric pump because holding the pump also hurts a lot.
