Clicky poll: Has your DH ?stepped it up??

How do you feel about your DH attitude and assistance since you became pregnant?

My DH has been great the last few months.  I normally do all the cooking (which I love to do and he is bad at) but he recently taking over most of the cooking and cleaning and been very involved in all my appointments. I just wonder If he has energy to keep it up after the babies are born, but for now I?m enjoying the pampering.

  • My DH has been awesome. He has been packing my lunch a few days per week. So freakin cute. :)

  • DH has stepped it up emotionally, but doesn't really do more on his own.

He is very understanding and supportive, he has gone to all but one of my appointments, and I really love that.

But as far as house stuff, no.  He complains less when I ask for his help.  He has cooked the occational late night grilled cheese, but for the most part everything is the same.

  • DH hasn't been stepping it up as much as I'd like him to, but his job has been crazy so I don't have much of a choice until things settle down for him at work...which will be in the next month or two.

  • DH and I were already very 50/50 on the housework, and it has stayed the same for the most part.  Which is how I want it.  If I do need help with something though, he is more than willing.

  • Mine loves going to the appointments, it's one of his "I absolutely have to be there," sort of things (which I love), and he has to miss this Friday's appointment because they just switched the work schedule without giving anyone warning.

Lately I've been making him dinner and lunches for work, and I pick up after us the most.  The other night I ran out of things to cook with, so I asked him if he would make some macaroni and cheese.  He gave me the "Are you serious?" look and said something like, "You're not the one who has to go to work and bust it out all day."  And I guess the look on my face was killer because he made it.

Sometimes he'll do gentlemanly things here and there (like open the car door...he opens normal doors for me, if he doesn't I just stand there and wait haha) that I do appreciate because it's easier on me.  I just wish he'd help clean the bathroom.  Stooping to clean the tub out and mopping the floor has never bothered me, but it does now.  He'll help clean the bedroom, sure, but no sir...not the bathroom.  Heaven forbid he thinks that when he pee's it doesn't splash in places unknown.  So call me gross, but I've gone on bathroom strike because he rarely helps clean.  He keeps his car more clean, and washes it every chance he gets.  Confused

I'm jealous of you ladies, hahahaha.

  • I voted special snowflake.  My husband has really stepped it up, but I would say he's pampering me.  I'd need shoulder and foot rubs to consider it pampering :)

  • DH hasn't stepped it up. I dont really get pampered but he was always the one to do the laundry, cleaning, dishes, etc, and I mostly just cooked. Now we are living at my parents, I only cook once a week, and we all do dishes as they come up and I am helping with the laundry and cleaning more, because otherwise my Mom gets pissy with me. I am okay with this, its not hard on me, and is keeping me moving instead of sitting like a lump.

  • My DH has really been great. He's been helping me out more with cooking and cleaning, and has been doing lots of thoughtful little things for me. He's also been coming to the majority of my doctor's appointments when his work schedule allows him.

  • DH amazes me everyday with how great he is being! I love him so!

Booh, I'm in the minority here! Will someone please lend me their husband? I'm in need of pampering.

Seriously, almost every night he asks me if I will rub his back. He gets the same answer every time, "F no. I'm the one who's pregnant and should be getting their back rubbed!". Then, he rolls over and falls asleep. Oh, sweet newlywed bliss!!

  • DH has been making my lunch every morning...I would never get out of the house in the morning if I had to do it! :)  I still do most of the cleaning and laundry, but am totally ok with that.  He helped a bunch with all my planting this year, since I am having a harder time bending over to do things.  I like to take care of things myself, but he will offer if he can tell I am having some trouble with anything!
