Prayers Please...Elevated Quad Screen

in 2nd Trimester
After debating on whether or not to even do the quad screen, my ob called me this morning with disturbing results. He said my risk of downs is 1 in 154. I know that it is still less than a 1% chance but I am worried. Please help me pray for a healthy LO!! I have to go do a level II ultrasound in 2 weeks.

    My screening came back at 1:32 and I cried that entire night... decided for the amnio..and all came back fine.

    Try not to stress, I know it's easier said than done... T&P Good Luck

    If it helps ease your mind, I went through a similar experience with my results. My doctor called on a Monday and advised that my AFP was extremely high, and we were to go to my area's largest children's hospital the upcoming Friday for an ultrasound. So after an agonizing week, we arrived for our u/s. The u/s technician said she would be extremely honest with us about the results and noted from my blood test results that we had a 1 in 5 chance of spina bifida.

    I'm happy to report that my LO is perfectly healthy and does not have spina bifida.

    Thanks ladies! I had my couple hours of crying this morning and now have to play the waiting game. (which I am NOT good at).

    I just need to keep in mind no matter what- it will be our baby which we love very much!

    My doctor explained to me that the quad screen shows if you have a higher risk than someone who is 35 or older.  She also explained that there is a 5% false positive rate.  Just throwing that out there to maybe ease your mind.  :)  I will send many good thoughts and prayers your way!

    Hang in there... when I was pregnant with ds my downs risk was 1 in 191 and he was born healthy... I wish you all the best.. keep us posted on your ultrasound good luck!!!! (((( hugs)))))
