What amount of spit up is normal? My baby always spit just a little randomly but starting maybe 2 weeks ago he spits up after every meal. Sometimes it's a dribble, sometimes maybe a tbsp or more. It can be right away or a bit after feeding.
I do have to supplement with formula and I tried another formula to see if that was the problem. But, he spits up whether breast fed or bottle fed and whether there is breastmilk or formula in the bottle.
So, does that sound like a lot or is that normal?
Thanks!
Re: How much/how often does your LO spit up?
Lo spits up after almost every meal...usually multiple times.
She doesn't have reflux and she has gained a ton of weight. So, the doc isn't worried.
My LO is the same way. I noticed a distinct rise in spitting when she started taking significantly more formula a day, so I've been wondering if (even though she's clearly hungry) her stomach just doesn't have room to process all that food. I have her 2 mo. check-up tomorrow and I plan to check with the doc, but in the meantime I'm interested to see what other people respond here.
NOTE: DD does not fuss when she does this frequent spitting. And she's no gassier/more uncomfortable than normal.

Ooooohh, great question! I have been wondering if DD spit up is normal. DD is almost like your LO.... but she does not spit up every feed, maybe every other, but sometimes it is spit, sometimes more... never a ton
and sometimes it is during or right after, sometimes it is later.....
I was thinking it might be too much for her and I am going to ask the ped today
He never cries when he spits up. I think it's more alarming to me. He'll be in the swing with a line of spit up running down his chest and then I feel bad! I sometimes wonder if he over eats! He is a gassy baby and we think maybe colicky but the spit up happens throughout the day.
I also worry about it happening at night and me not knowing, but I know that with his head turned he'll be alright.
This is my DD, too. Her pedi called her a "Happy Spitter"
