Stay at Home Moms

Moms of 6-7 month olds

What do you do w/ your LO during the day? I usually play w/ DS on his playmat, sing songs, read books, go for walks. Sometimes we meet up w/ some other friends & but none of my friends have babies, and their children are much older than mine. I was looking into a Gymboree class or something, but we're still trying to figure out our budget completely w/ me not working. I've only been home for a month.

Re: Moms of 6-7 month olds

  • our typical day is wake up play, nap, either more playing, going to the park, visiting family, nap and then we go home do bathtime and play till we're tired.

as for playing, we do alot of crawling, walking exercises to get him to develop his motor skills and we did a book instead of wishing at my shower so I have TONS of books which we read thru. We just did our first Gymboree class today and DS seemed to enjoy it. It's good to help build motor skills, socialize and let you have some Mommy contacts with LO's around your babies age.

  • Well, I've got a 3yo too, so mostly I just drag DS around with us on errands and playdates.

But I think you should join a mom's group or playgroup. Go look on meetup.com, that's where I found mine. They're almost always based on age, and maybe you'll make some new mom friends too.

  • She has just started taking naps on a schedule so here is what a typical day is for us:

    7:00-7:30 Wakeup/Bottle/Play

    9:45-11:00 Morning Nap

    11:00-1:45 Play/Run Errands

    2:00-4:00 Afternoon Nap

    4:00-6:30 Play/Dinner/Play

6:30-7:30 Read story, Get ready for bed, bottle, bed

When she is awake we play inside, outside (swim & playground), run errands, go to storyhour once a week. HTH!

  • We read lots of books, and sometimes I read to her from my novels! She rolls around on the floor, playing with toys and trying to crawl. We play on the activity mat. We usually walk around the yard once a day, and I point things out to her and follow whatever she's interested in. We watch the birds that come to our bird feeder.
