I stopped taking BC as of May 15th this year. Has anyone else's body just gone whack after stopping BC?!?! I am talking to my good friend who is pregnant and asking her things but her only side effect of going off BC was differences in her period, no actually feeling anything different. I just want to make sure I am NOT crazy and it can be common for some people to actually just be totally out of whack after going off BC (and I'm taking Prenatal Vitamins as well and I read they can cause some of the things I'm feeling), but, I am going crazy thinking these things are just in my head. Thank you!!
Re: Affects going off BC?!
The side Effects from going off of BC differ for everyone.
I didn't have too many problems until PMS times. Then the cramps, breakout and mood swings got pretty difficult.
Some women say that they get headaches and upset stomaches after going off the pill.
It can take up to a year to regulate off the pill. Some regulate right away.
Best of Luck
Thank you!
I haven't experienced too many problems other than a slightly longer than usual cycle the first month. It was 33 days and before BC mine were between 27 and 30. Last month my cycle was 29 days, and no unusual symptoms other than spotting a few days before my period.
It can take a while to regulate though. Just because you feel wacky this cycle doesn't mean next cycle will be the same. And the opposite is true for me, just because I feel normal these past 2 cycles doesn't mean I won't get a wonky one. I would suggest charting to really get a clear picture on what your cycles are doing. Good luck.

Curious as to how you plan to do that, exactly.
I wouldn't get it from the library, I'd buy it. It's pretty cheap on Amazon, and it's a great reference to keep coming back to.

This is me as well. I don't ever want to use hormonal birth control again, and I haven't had some of the craziness a lot of ladies have.
I did have headaches at first, but I had also stopped my migraine meds, so my body was also adjusting to that. I had a good two weeks of awful PMS, mostly moodiness and SORE boobs.
My actual cycles went right back to "normal" for me as far as timing, though my PMS symptoms were just as bad as before BCP.
The two worst were weight gain and acne. I gained a lot of weight very rapidly in the beginning and I am having trouble getting it off. I kept expecting my skin to adjust, but 10 cycles later, not so much. I had to break down and go back to ProActiv in the hope of clearing it up.
