I am going to the prenatal visit with our pediatrician today. What am I supposed to ask? It's hard to know what you want to know when you have never done this before. Any ideas would be appreciated!
Is there a special area for sick vs. well kids while they're waiting? (Ours has a separate area for newborns so they don't have to sit in the waiting room with sick kids)
We also went through our whole family history so she could look for any specific things she wants to be extra careful to watch for.
We talked about our thoughts on breastfeeding and vaccinations so we could all be on the same page.
I was nervous I wouldn't be able to think of all the questions I should ask, but our doctor actually brought up all the things I was going to ask about, plus things I didn't even think of.
I stressed out for nothing - she knew what I needed to know
Good luck! I hope you love your doctor!

I just had our pediatrician interview this past saturday and didn't have any questions since he came well recommended. So when I went in he went over his view on immunizations, since we are having a boy he asked about circumcision (we told him yes so he basically talked about the pros but said to let him know our final decision at the hospital). He talked about his office hours, well baby visits, how to contact him, how accessible he is. He also talked about putting in the car seat and his view on breast feeding (like that he thinks it is good but he will support whatever I decide, if I decide not to, etc) And lastly he talked about once LO is born the hospital will call him and depending on the time he will come during his lunch hour, once his office is closed or anything after 10PM he will come 1st thing the next morning.

A Butterfly lies beside us
like a sunbeam
and for a brief moment,
its beauty and glory
belong to our world.
But then it flies on again.
And though we wish it could have stayed
we feel so lucky to have seen it.
In loving memory of MrsTyson's precious Julia.
Re: pediatrician visit
Being a mom and working for a pedi these are things that come to mind;
When do they want to see the baby for a first visit? (usually it is the day after you get home)
What is the procedure for after hour phone calls, is there a doctor on call from that practice or does a doctor from another practice cover?
If you call with questions who would you be speaking with...will the doctor call you back or is there a nurse in the office to answer basic questions?
what are the office hours, do they offer any late night or weekend hours?
Will they come to the hospital to see the baby after delivery?
what hospital are they affiliated with?
