Listen up ya'll!

Let's do some real intros here since we are going to be spending the next 9 months together...

Hi, I'm Beth.  I like everything from Baby Gap and Carters, cupcakes, kitties, my iPhone, online shopping, blogging, and naps that are long enough for me to be rested, but short enough that I don't start missing DS (if you don't have kids yet you will TOTALLY understand this soon enough).  I do not like questions that can be answered with Google, people that are very easily offended, or bullies.  I eat lunch meat and soft cheeses, but don't drink coffee or coke (for now) and will not touch a glass of wine, beer, or other alcoholic beverage until I'm finished breastfeeding.

My bump personality: 99.8% of the time I'm nice and will just ignore stupid questions that can be answered with Google.  Catch me on a bad day and you'll think I'm the biggest biatch in the world.  I am all about finding out what works best for your family, so I do my best not to judge people for different parenting styles and if I feel judged by you I'll probably just ignore you and call you a B under my breath.

I think that about sums me up.  Anything else you need to know about me: refer to my badge below where you can totally stalk the last 10 months of my life.

Re: Listen up ya'll!

  • Hahaha! You cracked me up.

    I'm Beth too :)

    EDIT: More detail...

I'm 26 and live in central Texas. I'm an Aggie twice-over and in every sense of the word, but my best friend was a longhorn. It's the small things that keep me entertained.

DH and my first date was fishing. And, I didn't realize then how many of my days would be spent at a pond or on a lake... so I have taken up reading again. I love historical fiction and thrillers - also romantic comedies. My taste in film is not that much different.

This is my first pregnancy and I am starting to get over being paranoid about everything. Starting with a pledge not to POAS again (I finally saw the dark line I had been waiting for - and it showed up even befoer the control!!!). I even ate a bit of Caesar dressing today. Rebel - I know.

I agree with you about Google. In fact, I have a love/hate relationship with Google. I search every weird disorder discussed here and then have to remind myself of the odds.

  • Hi, Beth. :) I'm Katie. I'm 24, DH is 26, and this will baby be our first.

I, too, love my iPhone! I'm a dog person, I love coffee (but have completely cut it out for now), and I love to bake (mostly desserts), but am not such a fan of cooking *actual* meals unless it's quick and relatively simple.

I am originally from Michigan, but moved to South Carolina 5 years ago when DH and I got married. We have 2 dogs, and just bought our first home a year ago.

I think that's about it... oh, and I'm excited to be here Smile

Hi, my name is Lindsay. I'm 28, DH is 30. This will be our first.

I was born and raised in New Orleans. Went to college at the University of Kentucky. DH and I met my freshman year of college, so this oct will be our 10th year together. When I graduated I moved to Washington DC to work in international developement. I loved my job in DC. After Katrina, I felt the responsibility to move back to new orleans and help rebuild the city that made me who I am. What I do for the government is a very niche career field and they were in desperate need for people to do what I do post-katrina. We moved home and have loved being here ever since.

We have 2 dogs, a pug and a black lab. They are the loves of my life, although the lab drives me crazy on occasion.

  • Hi Beth! I'm Krystle. I'm 29 and DH is 30 and we just found out this morning that we are expecting our 1st.

I love anything that has to do with the internet - blogs, bumping, shopping, etc. as well as baking, reading, and taking photos. We have 2 furbabies (see siggy pic). Bailey is a pug/beagle mix and Emerson is a pug/boston terrier mix. We rescued/adopted both of them.

I'm much more of a lurker than regular poster but I'm trying hard to change that because I enjoy the boards. I am looking forward to getting to "know" everyone.

  • I'm Kristin, DH and I are both 25. We have been together for 4 years. We met in Chicago but both are from WI. I love my iPhone (a bit too much at times), redecorating and getting new ideas, reading, and our little family of our cat and dog.

I am extremely impatient and do not like waiting on others and have trouble with people who annoy me sometimes. I tend to be quiet until I come out of my shell.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

  • Hey there! My name is Jamie. DH & I have been married for 2 years 8 months and this will be our 2nd child. DD will be 2 in August. We've lived in our house for 3 years now.  I like scary movies, reading and scrapbooking.
  • Hey there!

I'm Regina, 26 and DH is 28, we've been married for 3 years in October (I have a ticker also). This is our first baby, but our second pregnancy. I had a miscarriage in January & had a D&C, but things are back to normal as far as physically!

We live in metro ATL area and both of us are from here, born and raised. I'm an accountant and DH is a school teacher and coach. We have two cats who I absolutely adore, and we are both super close to our immediate families. I have great in-laws and even greater immediate family of my own : )

I love to read, I love to SHOP - for anything - clothes, shoes, house stuff, etc, I love NASCAR - my name stands for a driver that I follow - and I love baseball and football as well. I am definitely a sporty girl but at the same time I love being girly...I need to get pedicures every couple weeks, get my hair done, wear fake eyelashes (when we go out), the whole bit. I LOVE to laugh and I am attracted to friendships with anyone that can make me laugh. I am very loyal, but very stubborn. I am usually very nice to just about everyone but I am the type that if you piss me off numerous times, it could take one stupid thing to send me over the edge.

  • Hi Everyone!

My name is Christy.  I'll be 32 next month and DH is 41.  I too am much more a lurker than a poster, but am trying to be better at it.  It's definitely a comfort to "talk" with others who are going through the same things as you.

Our DS will be 5 in November and we've been trying for our 2nd since July of 2007 with High FSH/POF as a Secondary Infertility diagnosis.  We were successfull on our first injectible cycle last March of 2009, but sadly it ended in a m/c discovered at 10w5d (baby had stopped growing at 9w).  We are cautiously optimistic that this pregnancy (a result of our 6th and final cycle) will be our sticky baby!

I work full time outside of the home and have a small business of my own, that when I am not spending time with DH and DS, occupies much of my remaining free time.

Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy 9 mos!!

  • Hi everyone! I'm Jessie, 25 and my DH is 26. This will be our first baby, we've been married since May 2008 and have been together since high school. We have three dogs, who are going to have to learn pretty soon that they are not real babies.

I love to read, mostly mysteries, and DH and I enjoy playing board games and going to the movies. We love to travel, although we don't get to as much as we would really like. I love visiting these boards, they're both information and entertaining and I look forward to getting to know all of you better over the next 9 months. Big Smile

I'm Brigid :) I'm 26 and DH is 25. We're both music teachers and live in NE OH. We've been TTC for 2 years and this is our 4th pregnancy, but we hope to hold this little one in our arm instead of heaven. Once upon a time, I was a BOTB regular, but have recently been a regular on the loss board and TTCAL.

  • Hi All....

My name is Erin and I am 27 years old. My DH is 31, and this is our second child. I have always lurked on the boards more than anything, but I am now a SAHM with a lot more time to post. My sister is expecting her first in October, and I am very excited to be pregnant together. With my first, I was pregnant with my sister-in-law. I love reading and watching movies; my DH is an avid hunter. I do agree with Beth that people should do a little research themselves before asking questions, but I will try to help if I can. I am very addicted to caffeine(soda only), so it will be very hard for me to quit cold turkey. I have drastically reduced to one can of soda a day. I did get very sick with my first pregnancy, so hoping this one will go a little smoother with a 17 month old in the house. My DD is my life, and I can't wait for her to realize that she is going to be a Big Sister.

I think that just about sums up our life right now... I will probably be on the boards daily, due to recently moving and not having a lot of friend in the area. H&H 9 months to all!

  • Hey there! My name is Kim (nicknamed "Kimoly the Anomoly" by my childhood best friend, hence the source of my name on here). DH and I are 34, and this is our first pregnancy ever. We are really excited. DH is a professor in philosophy, and I am a therapist. I just got licensed this spring and hope to eventually have my own private practice.

DH and I are originally from California (SF Bay area for me), but I moved here last August due to his job. We are adapting to North Florida culture and trying to make friends and put down some roots.

I love to read - DH just got me "Vampire Academy" as a surprise, since he read good reviews of it online. We are big fans of Lost, The Tudors, Rome, and most recently: Dexter. We are also anxiously awaiting the next installment of True Blood.

Can't wait to get to know all you ladies better!

  • Hi all!

I'm Whitney, and apparently the youngest on the board so far... don't judge! DH and I are 23, but will be 24 in a month. We have been married for just about 1 year (June 26th!) and this is our first baby. DH is a Systems Analyst for Chiquita Brands and although I have a degree in interior design I am currently a substitute teacher and am considering getting my masters to teach art in a few years... maybe.

I am SUPER close with my mother, and spend a lot of my time with my family. We like to take trips in the summer down to Lake Cumberland and I can't wait to share that with my children when they are old enough. I love good food, especially my mother's lebanese cooking, and I am total movie addict. I also have to kitties, Gemma and Tucker. Also, we live in Northern Western Kentucky.

So glad  to meet all of you!

  • Hi, I'm Ashley. My DH and I are both 29 with birthdays later this summer where he will turn 30 and I will turn 29 again. We have one beautiful daughter who will turn 3 just before this baby is born. This is my third pregnancy. I lost my first pregnancy at 22 weeks about 4 years ago. So, basically, pregnancy scares the crap out of me, but it's worth every moment.

I won't announce to my local board (where I spend most of my bump time) until after our 20 week u/s, so in the time being, I'm using an alter ego. I'll start posting with my real name after I spill the beans over there.

I'm originally from SC, but moved to CA after college. I love to travel, hang out with my friends, play with my daughter, and read. I just competed in my first mini-triathlon this past weekend and I plan on doing another next month. I gained 70 lbs with my daughter and will work very hard not to do that again this time. I've worked very hard to find a nice work/life balance since my daughter was born and I'm hoping to figure that out a lot more quickly this time around.

I'm looking forward to the next nine months with you ladies!

  • Hey! I am coming in a little late, but whatever.

My name is Amanda. I just turned 25 and my DH is 28. I love coffee, but at this moment can't seem to stomach it. Sushi was like crack to me and it is a VERY hard habit to kick. DH and I have been married for almost 3 years now. This is our first baby, but I treat my dogs like little children. LOL.

I love shopping but hate waiting for other people to try on cloths. I am a VERY impatient person. Most the time I am nice but I can not stand people who are either really dumb, or act dumb. Those people annoy me. But even if people annoy me I deal with them with a smile on my face. Most the time I am pretty laid back. I am referred to as somewhat a hippie in that sense.

I am an internet wh0re! I love it. I also love cell phones. I am a bad blogger but I really do not care. I write what I feel at the time and if you do not like it then oh well.

If you need more information just ask.

  • Hi everyone!

I'm Lindsey I am 29 and my dh is 28 (our birthdays are exactly 1 year and 2 days apart). We also got married on October 2nd, 2009, so we have both birthdays and our anniversary all in 1 week! This is our first child for both of us. I am a 4th grade teacher and currently working on my Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction, so unfortunately, my bump time is limited, unless I am off track (like now, 7 weeks off). we have a dachshund/Beagle puppy named Titan, he is 8 months old. Before life got so busy I loved to work out, play tennis, and go snowboarding/wakeboarding (won't be doing that this summer), but now my life is filled with grading papers and writing them!

  • Hi! I'm Jennifer. DH and I are both 28. We met in high school and started dating. So we have been dating for 14 years. We'll be married for 3 on September 29th. This will be our second child. Our DD was born October 25, 2008. She is the most awesome kid I have ever met. We have 2 dachsies: Dodger is 6 and Emma will be 5. I love to take photos. Photography was my major in college, however, I have been doing freelance graphic design work ever since I graduated. I am currently a SAHM (with some random working thrown in) and I love every bit of it. I love to crochet, sew, and craft. I don't drink (alcohol) EVER. I have yet to find a drink that I like more that my Coca Cola. :oP See my siggy for a link to my blog. I am slightly obsessed with blogging.

    Ummm...I think that's about it.

I look forward to spending the next 9 months with all of you lovely ladies! :o

We started TTC in November and I got my first BFP in January. We were beyond excited, but then ended up losing our first little one in March. We got the go ahead in April and we were so lucky to get our second BFP after just one month of trying again. We are very excited but very nervous. We having been crossing our fingers and praying for our forever baby.

I love to cook, watch movies, work out, bump, and shop. I am a pretty laid back person. I am true to my friends and family, and love them dearly!!

and I will turn 29 again.

This is how I will be looking at birthdays from here on out!

Hi ladies, I'm Erin. I'm 27, DH is 35. We have been married for 3 months. I had an ectopic pg in early March in which I lost my left tube. This BFP was somewhat of a surprise, considering I really had no idea what I was doing with opk's, ewcm, etc.

I am a special education teacher, DH builds guitars. We are super excited, nervous, worried about this pregnancy, but we are positive that everything will be okay. I love to read, shop, listen to DH play his guitar. I am currently working on my master's degree, and it may take me the rest of my life to complete this task, as I am not really as in to it as I should be!

I'm looking forward to STAYING on this board! Nice to meet you!

  • i'm Jennifer (in case the SN didn't give that away). H and i have been married a year. the hardest thing for some people to deal with is that we met on an online dating site 4 yrs ago.  BK will be our first baby and because h was adopted at birth this will be the first blood relative he's ever been with.  i suffer from vertigo so coffee and soda is not an issue for me.. i might have to argue if OB say no to the couple of glasses of white zin i have a year.

i don't mind answering anyone's questions since there are times it takes longer to swim through all the bs on google then to ask those who know.

love reading, photography and our 2 dogs.  apache is a 9yr old 92 lb alaskan malamute. freya is a 8month old 50lb, german shepherd, alaskan malamute, husky mix.  freya and i will be doing agility the end of this month and pregnancy or not i can't wait to start.

  • Hi all, my name is Kelly I am 32 and DH is 36.  We will be married 2 years in September.  We have had 2 m/c in the past related to elevated prolactin so now that we have that fixed we are hoping the third time is the charm.  I am a special ed. teacher, but just found out that I am moving to reg. ed. next school year and I will be teaching kindergarten.  And add to that my husband is going back to school to be a nurse.  So we are going through a lot of changes all at once.  Some things I liked to do are swim, read, shop, and hang out on my deck now that its becoming warmer.

  • Hi! I'm Laura, I'm 29, I live in the "NYC metro area." I'm originally from Chicago, but we moved out here for DH's job. I'm a SAHM, but just recently passed the NY bar exam so maybe someday I'll be a I practicing attorney, too. My DD is adorable, sweet, likes to pick her clothes, and has no issue letting us know when she doesn't like something. (I fear the terrible twos!!!) We have a Yellow Lab/Akita/Corgie/Jindo/German Shepherd/Sharpei/ thelistofpossibilitiesgrowslongereverytimesomeoneseesher that we rescued from Kentucky.

I am in favor of snark, but like OP don't mind answering questions and am not a fan of internet bullies. I am also not a fan of weight posts, if they exist for the OP to AW her low weight gain. (::chants::I will NOT be eating a gallon of ice cream a week on this go-round, I will NOT be eating a gallon of ice cream on this go-round...) I love animals, funny kid stories, and dairy products. I hate the dark, unnecessary touchers, and the color pink.

I look forward to getting to know all of you over the next 8 months!!!

  • Hey everyone!  I am meaghan, and I am 29, DH is 37.  This will be our first baby and while we weren't exactly TTC, it really didn't take us long at all.  We were married in Vegas in January 2010 and didn't want to get pregnant until after our reception in April so that I wouldn't be feeling like crap, and especially so that I could enjoy a glass or two of wine that night:)  Well a couple of months later and here we are.  We're getting older, him especially:) and we were hoping that we didn't have any issues with getting pregnant so we are very thankful that we have been able to get pregnant so quickly, even if it was a little sooner than expected.

We live in Saskatchewan, Canada and are typical Canadians. We play hockey, we go camping, we play slopitch, we golf, we live an active life and get outdoors as often as possible.  We also say "sorry" and "eh" a lot.

I am trying not to get too excited too early...but its hard not to!!  I am definitely a worryer and I like to do tonnes of research so I am sure that I will be looking everything up on google to help me decide what to buy for baby. I don't post a lot, but I enjoy checking in and reading everyone's posts.  It definitely makes you feel like you are not alone in this.  We aren't going to tell anyone for a little while so its nice to be able to check in here and see that others are going through the exact same things that I am!

  • I'm late joining in on this, but since I don't post all that much, I figure I should say something!

I'm Katie, 28 yrs old, my hubby is 40... We just got married at the end of April after dating for 2 and a half years. This is a second marriage for both of us, and we have no other kids. He is a pharmacist (which especially comes in handy now!) and I am an investigator. I am from Massachusetts originally but lived in NY the last 5 years (where we met) and we just moved to California a year ago for my job. We have 2 cats, who we drove cross country with when we moved. I love to cook! That about sums it up! I am looking forward to getting to know you all over the next 9 months!!

  • I'm late on this too, but I'll answer anyway!  I'm Emily, my husband and I are both 25 years old.  We met during our first week of college, were married about a month after I graduated,  had our first baby a few months after, and another baby 16 months later.  I am a stay at home mom and DH teaches 7th and 8th grade English.  I am blessed to have had a ridiculously easy time getting pregnant and have had very easy pregnancies but unfortunately was forced to have c-sections with both of my girls and will be having another one this time.  I'm also planning to have my tubes tied after this baby- three under three is plenty for us!  So excited to share the next 9 months with all of you!

  • I know I am really late on this too.  I'm Megan and I am 22 and my DH is 24.  Yes we are very young.  We have been married for almost 2 years now, and this is our second pregnancy, the first ended in miscarriage.  He is a chef and supervisor at Busch Stadium, and I work and manage my parents farm/produce stand.
  • Also late, (I felt too sick to post last night) but wanted to join in.  I'm Em.  I'm 29 and DH is 30.  I'm a lawyer and he's a doctor, but we try not to be as boring and conventional as that sounds.

We've been married for 3 years and TTC for about a year.  Our first two pregnancies ended in miscarriage, but we are feeling very optimistic about this one.  It just feels real, and we're significantly more relaxed about it than we've ever been before.

I'm new to the Bump, and I will confess I don't fully "get it" yet.  I've been lurking on other boards besides this one and I've been surprised a few times by super-harsh responses to stupid questions.  I'm still learning the ropes and hope I don't say the wrong thing!
