Has anyone had any experience with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and pregnancy? I have/had SVT (I had an ablation to correct it but still have problems occasionally). Just wondering if it will affect my pregnancy in any way; my OB said we'd "wait and see" if any problems arose. TIA!
Re: New here (Tachycardia)
My recommendation would be to go see a cardiologist. At least that way you get some peace of mind. Also, since you are still having occasional problems with SVT, be sure you notice how long the episodes last and how high your heart rate goes.
The "wait and see" option doesn't really cover your bases WHILE your having a problem. It also may be a good idea to schedule an appointment with a maternal fetal medicine specialist.
Good luck!!
Are you seeing a high risk OB? I have chronic HBP so I was already seeing a perinatologist. I experienced a cardiac issue a few weeks ago (I went into afib). I'm now seeing a cardiologist and consulting on my case is an electrophysiologist.
From your post it sounds like a second opinion may be in order - for your own piece of mind.
Nope; I don't have a high risk OB, although she's very well-regarded in Chicago and I trust her. I have an electrophysiologist from my ablation, but since I haven't had any major problems since then (just slight speeding every now and then), I just don't know if I need to make a big issue of it. Thanks for the advice, ladies!
