So, the first part of the sequential screen just came back.... so far a 1/5000 chance for Downs and other trisomy issues! I'm so excited, last time it was 1/1900!!!

Congrats, OP! We opted for the amnio and everything was a-OK for us as well.
Even though I am 36, and only one of the doctors or nurses have ever said anything about "advanced maternal age." He just wanted to know if I wanted the blood tests or the amnio. He drew a nice little risk of miscarriage vs. risk of Downs chart and explained how the intersection is at age 35 more or less, but that wasn't some sort of cut off and it was totally up to me on how I wanted to proceed.
Son #1 is already 2!
Not too much longer until Son No.2 arrives!
