First B-day Party

Okay Ladies...it's about that time. I am offically starting to obsess over Ashton's 1st b-day. I need some ideas on themes....actually I need you wonderful ladies to make me decide!!

So far here are my details...I've hired Aloha Clows to do balloon twisting and a bubble show. The party will be held at The Willows in a private room. My guest list is up to about 90 so far with 35 of those are kids. Since I've hired a bubble show, it lasts 45 mins so I don't feel that I need to have games, etc. for the other kiddos. Oh and the ballong twister and bubble lady do not dress as clowns if that matters.

Any theme ideas based on what I've booked already? I really like the vintage surf theme. Clicky but since we live in Hawaii, I feel like it is sort of cheesy. Opinions? I need some thing pretty simple but I want it to be fun as well. Ashton loves the beach which is why I keep going back to the surf theme.

2 more months until Ashton turns 1, wow!! I still remember when you came to our GTG when you were pregnant. Doesn't seem like so long ago!

I think the vintage surf theme would be great, especially if Ashton loves the water. The link you posted shows that it can be done in a modern and cute way. It doesn't look hokey or cheesy at all.

I like the vintage surf theme! Don't think it's cheesy at all. I would probably be inclined to do some kind of beach or ocean theme for our little boy... and I don't even know what he likes yet!

Ashton is such a big and handsome boy!

I agree with the other ladies - I think vintage surf could be really fun and not cheesy at all! Besides, it's all about Ashton (OMG can't believe he's turning 1 already!), and if he's into the beach then that makes it a good theme no matter what. Smile

i love the surf theme...not cheesy at all! i LOVE the beach cupcakes or you can make it a cake ( my bridal shower was beach themed and our cake lady used brown sugar for the sand on my cake). you could also incorporate sea life: turtles/dolphins to offset the surfiness to it or maybe sand castles?

for invites you could use some of those vintage postcards they sell all over.

now i want a kid so i could have a cool party...lol. Stick out tongue

I personally love your idea for a vintage surf theme and don't think it's cheezy at all. Sounds like you're well on your way to an awesome first bday for your little man!

I can't believe that the first round of Hawaii babies are getting so big already! Ashton is such a cutie!

I really like the idea of vintage surf theme. Don't you have a surf board with Ashton's name on it? I think I remember seeing a picture of it?

i think the surf theme would be super cute too and not cheesy at all

or just beachy theme is fine too.... or you could pick some type of ocean creature and make a theme from that? i.e. crab...dolphin...whale...shark...turtle...etc.

Yes, Adam had it made for him when he was a few days old and we had his picture taken with it. He actually sits on it in the ocean now:-)
