s/o plastic popsicle molds

Can anybody recommend some that actually WORK? I mean, where you can actually get the juice pop out without the handle popping out of it, leaving the icy part stuck in the mold?

I bought a cheap set from Target to make juice pops for DD1. I froze the pops for a couple of days, and when I wanted to give one to DD1, I ran warm water over them to loosen them up. But the little stick/handle just came right out, and I never could actually get any of them out of the stupid tray. :P

I've thought about trying actual popsicle sticks instead of the little plastic sticks-with-handles that come with the tray, and wonder if that would work better. Advice, anybody?

lol, I know you're probably looking for a cheaper one, but this one is pretty cool.

  • I think the ice is going to stick better to the wooden sticks unless they're the plastic ones with holes that allow the ice to freeze through the stick. Put foil or plastic wrap over the top and cut slits in for the sticks so they stay in place.

  • I found some at Whole Foods that ate silicon (? The material that the bendable bakeware is made of). The sleeves peel right off the Popsicles. It was $12/4. Pricey but work great! Sorry I forget the brand.
  • are you letting them freeze really well before trying to get the popsicle out?  My set is a cheapie set and I havent had an issue except when I am trying to get one out too soon.  But my handles have the little holes that someone mentioned...

DH got these and they seem to work well.  They are also nice because once they are frozen, you can take them off the base plate so they take up less room in the freezer.  Not to mention they are smaller than most popsicles so they don't completely melt before DDs finish them.
