We're finally back in DC :-). We had a fantastic time in Cabo. I know some ladies didn't think it was safe to travel there but everything went well for us. We stayed in a resort which has a swimable beach. Our hotel was also close walking distance to downtown Cabo so we enjoyed walking downtown with no problem. It's a very touristy area so we didn't feel unsafe at all. We did NOTHING but relax, eat and sleep so it was great :-).
On the way back, we stopped in LA for a couple of days for my cousin's wedding. I must say I am happy to just be a wedding guest/spectator nowadays :-). I can't help noticing little details though. The baby started kicking this past week. She kicked A LOT while we were in Cabo but wasn't kicking as much when we got to California. Hmm..
Now, that we're back, I got tons of things to check off on our to do list! Eeek. Project Get-ready-for-the baby is on!
For my travel question, up to which week are pregnant women allowed to travel internationally? I asked my doctor about this a long time ago but now, I can't remember what she said. We just got an invite for another cousin who is getting married in Aruba this coming Labor day. I will be around 28-29 weeks then. So far, I have a low risk pregnancy so hopefully, I will still be allowed to travel?
Now, off to catch up on posts..
Re: Back from babymoon and another travel question
the babymoon looked fab (I saw a couple of pictures pop up on my FB on blackberry).
as for travel, I think you just need to discuss it with your doc. they take a few factors into consideration - where you are visiting and length of travel time (will there be medical care for you there, are there any vaccines you would need, etc) doesn't seem like either would be too concerning for aruba?
I almost needed to go to DC (5+ hour flight) well into 3rd try (maybe 33-34 weeks) and my MW gave the ok after discussing flight times and my personal PG health at the time. Length of travel time was an issue, but we didn't need to assess any other concerns...
I was 26 weeks while on our babymoon & my dr didn't seem concerned at all about me travelling even later in the pg. She did say she didn't want me travelling to a place that didn't have reputable healthcare just in case I ended up going into labor or having any complications while away from her.
But like pp, I would talk to your dr & verify the hospital near by in aruba.
and wow! maybe Cabo & Aruba all in one summer...lucky lady!
Glad you had a great babymoon...loved your pics on FB.
I was cleared to travel through 34 weeks. My last trip was at 28 weeks and I was glad to not have to fly anymore after that! Double checkw with your OB, but Aruba should be fine.

Welcome back E! I knew you'd love Cabo, I'm so glad you had such a relaxing time.
I think as long as your Dr. clears you for travel and you're feeling good, go for it. I think at this point for me (28 weeks) I wouldn't be as comfortable to travel and be as mobile as I normally would be
But I've got this sciatic nerve thing going on right now... ouchie.
Can't wait to see more pics!
I love Hawaii!

I got a letter from my midwife at 36 weeks to travel to Vancouver to see U2. The airlines didn't ask me anything though?
I'm not sure what I was thinking though, I was SO darm tired after the concert and doing some shopping that I layed on the couch for 2 days when we got home. I probably wouldn't travel that late in my pregnancy again.
I remember feeling really good at 28/29 weeks though.
Your pics of Cabo look great.

My doctor said up to the end of my second trimester for big trips. If you're able to take another trip before the baby comes, definitely take advantage of that and enjoy yourself!
ahh..good to know! thanks!
