I breastfeed, but supplement with about 8 oz. of Similac Advance a day (spread out between 2-3 bottles, usually in the evening). Severin has become extremely gassy in the past week or so (about the time we upped the formula from 4 oz. to 8 oz.), and it is clearly making him uncomfortable and miserable. I'm thinking of switching to Similac Sensitive, so I'm wondering if any of you have used this and did it actually help with the gassiness? Is there another formula you'd recommend? Thanks so much!!
Re: Your experience with Similac and gassy baby...?
First, DS is wearing the same onesie as your DS's pic today:)
We switched to Sim Sensitive and he honestly was almost just as gassy and uncomfortable as when he was on the regular Advanced. So, we switched about a week ago to Good Start Gentle Plus and it's made a world of a difference. Not only is he less gassy, his poops are much less runny...completely different consistency. He has almost no abdominal pain. I immediately could tell the difference between the formulas. Similac is almost grainy in texture even when mixed really well. Good Start is completely smooth when mixed. In addition, even when shaken, Good Start has almost no bubbles.
This is just our experience. You, obviously, might have a different experience depending on your LO's needs.

When I breastfeed, I burp him between breasts and then after he's done. With a bottle, I burp him halfway through and then when he's done (his bottles are never more than 4 oz.). I also give him gas drops halfway through all of his feedings. We're using Platex VentAire wides, with the slowest newborn nipple.
