Postpartum Depression

Will you tell your boss?

I am going back and forth on this. She is out until July right now so I have some time.  I don't need too, but I think I might like to if I feel like I'm being forgetful or having trouble getting things done well. Although then I am scared of her "walking on eggshells" around me. WDYT?

Re: Will you tell your boss?

  • I told a few close friends at work but not my boss. If I thought my work might suffer, I would have considered telling him, but I actually felt like I functioned better at work than home.
  • I did tell my boss, but I told her because I felt like I was having a really difficult time at work.  I felt like she deserved to know why my work was suffering.  When I told her, she said she thought I was doing a great job, and didn't think my work was suffering at all!  Then she proceeded to tell me that she suffered from PPD too, and now we can chat about it.  It ended up working really well for me.  GL!
