Pregnant after a Loss

Bad feeling/pity party for myself

Well, I'm adding to the worried posts from this morning. I am 6w1d and the only consistent symptom I've had is sore boobs, and this morning - nothing. Yesterday I was working hard and doing well at getting myself into the "today I am pregnant and I love my baby" place and this morning I just have this feeling of doom. It's not even anxiety anymore, just a sense that this one is going to go bad too.

I know there is nothing to do but get ahold of myself and wait it out until my appt Friday, but I already feel so down.

I also have this stupid dental problem which won't even be diagnosed until Thursday and which will likely mean complicated scheduling of appts because I don't have childcare for DS (and all the OB appts are hard enough - they are at the IF clinic so can't bring DS).

I am having a major pity party for myself - feeling like I'm really trying to do everything right and it's still all a mess.

  • Aww I'm sorry.  Try to be positive.  I see you are from NOVA... what clinic are you going to?

I went to Dominion, and they are really great about reasurring fears.  Maybe call your clinic and see if they can check your betas?  At 6 weeks 1 day you *could* be able to see a hb, maybe call and see if they can get you in earlier.  With your history, they should understand.

Also,  there were a lot of children at Dominion when I went.  It was never looked down on, and the nurses usually loved on them.  Is this a specific rule at your clinic, or is it just something you don't want to do?

  • :::hugs::: Just remember that lack of symptoms means nothing. Mine came and went from 7 weeks till about 12-13 weeks.

  • I know exactly how you feel but it's early.  I didn't feel ANYTHING until 6 weeks, then I started to get m/s...well at all hours of the day so I guess it's just s?  My lower back started hurting later that week as well.  I was stressing about my boobs not hurting (see my anxiety post below), they finally started hurting last week but kinda went away this morning and of course I'm over analyzing it as much as possible.  Just try to remember that you could very well just not be having symptoms just yet...that is absolutely possible...and likely.

    I hope you feel better.

I go to Shady Grove. They discourage children there, though I brought DS once when I had to - I just had to wait in a different room.

The problem with bringing DS to the ultrasounds is I don't want him to know yet about the pg, and he's now old enough that we can't have him in there without him understanding at least some of it.

I am just hoping I won't have to choose between having DS there after all, or not having DH so he can watch DS. Ugh.

  • Thanks everyone. It's hard because at just 6w I feel like this is when symptoms are supposed to be starting, not going away!
