  I know what you mean... my parents are already looking forward to Dol... I'm still pregnant!!! but my parents friends are already wanting to see the baby... I told them I am gonna start charging admission fees... :P

   my friend did her son's dol/ 1st birthday at Woodburry community center in Irvine... he DH is not Korean so she did both Dol and 1st. birthday thing.... she found a catering place that delivered and staied through out the whole thing... did the decorations and stuff for the head table with some rice cakes... although coming from seeing "total" korean style dol, rice cake they did was not enough... you might want to see the rice cake place to do the dol table... 

  Most Korean people so it in a banquet rooms at a resturants but I thought Woodburry Community center was nice, and good space for about 100 people.... 

  after getting a location, you need to get food, rice cakes and head table decorations, also get the Dol Grabbing things... well considering Dol Grabbing is the main event... to see what the baby is going to be when they grow up... Money for wealth, notebook and pencil for scholar, strings for long life, now days sports stuff to see if they will be a athlet...

  one thing good about Korean Dol is other then booking the location, and photographer... other things you don't need to worry about it for at most couple of weeks before the actual date... some of the places I called around for food and rice cake they wanted to know about it only 2 to 4days before the event...

  No tips or advice here, but I'm excited to hear your ideas since I should incorporate a few things into Dusty's 1st birthday. We did get a special rice cake for his 100-day. My inlaws would love it if I incorporated a few things in and surprised them with it!

  J - I should meet up with you one afternoon & have you take me to all the hot spots so I can get good flavored Soju and those boxed special pancake mixes.

  We should do a Korean food shopping trip one afternoon! I want Soju so bad!!!! 1 more month!!!!! I have been craving Bacon lettuce wrap and soju this last trimester it's crazy!!!

  i had ryan's at the diamond bar center in diamond bar  it's not technically the o.c., but it was the 1/2 way point for those coming from the o.c. and those coming from la.  it was a bit overpriced as the party was on a sat. , but it was an awesome room.  i was soooo stressed out over the party!  i swear it was like planning a wedding...i had a binder and everything!
