I have never measured out how much liquid (milk and or water) dd gets in one day. I pretty sure I'm the only mom that has never measured this out:) I give her milk the same way I nursed her which was on demand. When she finishes a cup if she signs for more I fill it back up. Whatever she doesn't finish I stick back in the fridge for later. If she's playing during the day and wants something to drink she signs for milk (that sign stands for drink in our house) and I give her some water. I don't have a sippy cup that has measuring lines on it so I never paid attention.
Clomid M/C 8 weeks 2/08 *IVF #1-DD born 3/09
*Surprise BFP-T18 baby lost at 13w 1/10 *FET #1-DS born 2/11
We're still working on weaning and the transition to soy milk (dairy sensitivity, so we're holding off until 15 months for WCM).
But our pediatrician said not to expect Elizabeth to sit and drink 5-6 ounces at a time once we're done with bottles. Right now, she nurses a.m. and takes two 5-ounce bottles at daycare, but doesn't usually finish either, and nurses before bed.
The doc said to strive for 12-18 ounces a day once we're fully transitioned to soy milk. I know some doctors say 16-20 ounces or even more, so I think it can vary a lot!
After 20 months, 3 Clomid cycles and 4 IUI cycles, IVF #1 with ICSI = BFP!
Count me among those that never really measured the milk intake that specifically.
DD would drink around 12 ounces of milk total over the course of a day. Mostly in the morning and before bed. Otherwise, she drinks water and has solids and that seems to fill her up.

Hayden doesn't use bottles anymore so all of his milk is in a sippy. At his 1 year appointment, his pedi said 16-24 oz. of milk in a day. He has 6 oz. sippy cups so I just try to make sure he drinks 3 cups a day.

I do this too. I really don't know exactly how much she gets anymore. She does not drink a whole lot at one time anymore.
Re: another ? how much milk
that was Avery, until like two days ago when she started getting very angry it was all gone!

Paige drinks 8 or 9 ounces of milk, two times a day. Once before her nap, and one before bedtime.
I give her water from her sippy the rest of the day.
I don't feel like she needs any more milk than that, due to how much yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, etc. that she eats.
I liked not counting it when we were offering in a sippy...but she really was hardly taking any. So now it's back to bottles and it's obvious.
Thanks for the info. I just couldn't believe how much she drank at one time!
