Hospital Indemnity Insurance?

Hey girls! Have any of you purchased or looked into this? I don't have benefits through work - and it's too expensive for me to be added onto DH's insurance. I have my own health insurance, but no paid time off or short term disability insurance. My insurance agent suggested Hospital Indemnity Insurance for a supplemental pay when I go into the hospital when we have a baby. Seems like a good deal, but is it too good to be true?! Any thoughts? Pros/Cons? TIA!!!!!!!

    DH and I have been looking at all my benefits offered at my new job and this is one of them. It is through Aflac, so you should be able to get it on your own. I would also check out short-term disability insurance. I'm not sure which one is the better deal yet, but check them both out. HTH!

    I'm a bit late in responding but I highly suggest you verify how long you have to have the insurance before you can "use" it. 
    I had thought about purchasing Aflac's STD but if you plan on using it for "maternity leave" you have to have it for 10 full months before you can use it--no scamming the system there.

    Thanks girls!! Yes you do have the policy for 10 full months before using it. I'm trying to get it now since we're going to start TTC next month!
