I've been having quite a few bouts of these over the last few days. They eventually go away and I haven't been timing them because they don't tend to have a solid start and stop... So a couple of questions. I'm kind of assuming that at this point (almost 34 weeks) this sort of thing is normal. And also, my doc told me a while ago, that at 34 weeks they would no longer try to stop my labor if I were to go into PTL....so basically, I just shouldn't think much about them unless they escalate and start becoming timeable, right?
Re: Question about menstral like cramps
it's been a while, but there was a point where the BH's went from all over, on the sides and up top... went from that to "OMG, I have to poop" PMS cramps. But yeah, not really trackable for a while. At least for me.
I had 2-3 week of "omg? is this it?" pains. It was not until I sleep like a BABY one nite, and my water broke in the AM, did I really go into labor. (38w2d)
So yeah, you're transitioning, but who knows when "it" will be time...
trust me when I say : You will know it. You just will.
lol
I'm so excited for you!!!!
I between period like cramps and "gotta poop" cramps.
These can actually be minor contractions (I found that out with #1)... but until they are regular/timeable you shouldn't worry, that is unless you have leaking with them.
not to disagree but I was in PTL and all i had was period like cramps. they weren't really disturbing but they were fairly defined (i could tell when they started). I didn't do anything about it because I figured "oh this is nothing" but when I finally did see the doc, my cervix was way short and I wound up in the hospital and delivered 3 weeks later (but I was on a lot of meds...and this happened at 31 weeks).
Granted, I was having 7-10 an hour...I should have called...but now I know.
So I'd call tomorrow just to let them know, if I were you.
I had this type of thing around 35 weeks (they woke me up out of my sleep) and went to the OB to get checked out...I wasn't dilated at all and the baby was still up high, so he just told me to be sure I stayed hydrated.
That being said, a couple of my friends told me that's how labor started for them, so don't write it off if it's really concerning you...just go in and get checked just in case, even if it's just to put your mind at ease.
when mine went to AF cramps, I was in labor. but they were totally different than the bh contx that tighten and sometimes leave you breathless.
If they aren't timetable, I would just deal. You may have the most irritable uterus ever...I have one and I thought things were bad for me a lot of times, but I know you have had some spotting this entire pregnancy - what about bh contx?
I think your spotting will just pick up. I know I started losing my plug at 35wks and didn't have the baby until 39wks.
when my contx turned to AF, i was in labor and I couldn't stand up straight. the worst af cramps ever for me. but they were timetable.
you are getting close!!!
