Backache a sign of miscarriage?

This might sound incredibly stupid but I have no idea what the signs of an early miscarriage are. My previous m/c was because of being dilated and my water breaking. Anyway, the past few days I've had an upper backache, between my shoulder blades, like the kind of ache you get when you've been sitting in one position too long. Maybe I'm just looking for a sign for this to be over. I don't know. I hate just waiting.

oh honey, I am so sorry you are going through this. With my two m/c I did not have what you describe, so can't really be of help on that. I do know that when I am very stressed as I am sure you are at this point, I hold all my stress in my shoulders to the point it aches. The only help for me are heating pads.

With my loss, I remember a terrible backache just before the bleeding, but it was lower in my back not as high up.
I am so so sorry that you have to deal with this, it's just not fair.

i'm so sorry you are looking for signs of a m/c. ugh, i feel for you. ((HUGS))
i just had my first m/c too but i had no symptoms at all except a dull aching where my right ovary would be. turns out it was a cyst so it had nothing to do w/ my m/c.
the only signs of a m/c i had and this may be tmi but after a BM i had red bleeding.
( and honestly thankgod for that little bit of bleeding b/c i would have went to my 10wk u/s not knowing i didn't have a baby in there. 
( my body for some reason never wants to give up on pregnancies that just shouldn't be.

Yea, that's what I was thinking last week, but the u/s yesterday showed that the sac is in my uterus, so I'm thankful for that!

First I am sorry you are going through this
I m/c on May 2nd and I had really bad lower (hip height) back pain but not upper. It felt like really bad menstrual cramping. I bled literally for the first 14 weeks (no pain though) when I was preg with my DD so I didn't worry at first. But this time I started bleeding for a day or so and then it go really heavy and clotty (sorry tmi) and I had painful cramping. It literally took my breath away. There was no mistaking it for me since so much blood and 'matter' was coming out. I had 2 betas to confirm it and then it was over. This is the first time I've logged on since I last logged on and entered my new due date (which was 1/4/11).
