I am planning on keeping dd rearfacing until 2 years old, I have gotten nothing but flack from EVERYONE in real life.
H just picked up dd, and he has her forward facing already.
He said 'her legs are squished'....he of course doesn't 'get' or care about crash studies.
It's these things that make me hate him. I wish he would realize that it's dds safety and reguardless of how much he may not like me, or want to hear what I have to say, he needs to listen!
Re: ugh....H and the carseat...
"Broken legs, cast. Broken back, casket."
It's supposed to be much, much safer to have them rear facing as long as possible.
There is a long youtube video about a study that was done about how keeping them rear facing until 40lbs (if you can find a rear facing car seat that goes that high). Like PP said, broken legs vs. broken back.
Research has shown that they are less likely to get a broken leg then they are to get a broken neck, in a wreck.
This is why they are making carseats that rearface so much longer. I mean it doesn't make it any harder to put her in, unless its a 2 doorcar, and it's not like he has one..
I may send him some links and info and see if that changes his mind.
