I think it was much harder on me than it was on her. My MIL said she was really good and that they had a wonderful time.
Nickleback was pretty good. I'm definately not in "rocker" mode. I found the girls flashing their bewbies at the camera a little tasteless, but we were at a rock concert I guess.
I pumped each time I was supposed to be feeding her. Dumping the milk down the drain felt like throwing away liquid gold.
Re: I survived the first night away
Lori I just caught up on your post below. Being away without her was a bit tricky with EBFing because we needed to be back in the hotel room to pump close to when she would normally eat. Because my milk supply was a problem early on I was afraid that if I didn't keep pumping regularily it might go down again.
But it worked out alright. I brought the pump in my carry on just incase.

Glad it went well. Hope you were able to enjoy yourself a little, at least!
Why'd you dump? I hate even losing a drop from the breast shields!
I had to dump because there was no way to get the milk back home on the plane.

Really? I thought they allow breastmilk as carry on even if baby isn't traveling with you. That's a bummer.
Glad the first night went smoothly
I can't believe the whole girls flashing the cameras thing--Nickleback tends to have pretty PG songs so I feel like they wouldn't attract as "rowdy" of a fan-base, but oh well =P
Do they really? I feel like they wouldn't if the baby isn't with you but that's just my gut feeling--it'd be good to know if they would really let you or not...
Wow, Teri...congrats! Sorry the rocker crowd was not your style, but kudos to you for getting out there and crossing this milestone of being away for a night. I suspect it'll be harder for me to be away from Libby than it will be for her to be away from me for one night.
And I am sorry you had to pump and dump. I read on another board (Working Moms) that one lady packs the pumped milk in her checked bag (in a thermal bag with ice packs) to get it home so she doesn't have to pump and dump. I might have one or two nights away from Libby in July for work and don't know if I'll pump and dump or what. I don't have supply issues at all (I get 6-8 oz. in 6-7 minutes of dual pumping) but will pump at her regular feed times to ensure my supply stays strong.
We already have a ton for frozen milk (since pump 8 oz./day while I am work and she only takes 3-4 oz./day while I am gone we have quite a stash built up now), but I hate to dump perfectly good BM. Of course I have the excess lipase issue too, so that'll mean trying to scald it in a hotel room, etc. Dunno what I'll do...seems easier to pump and dump than to figure all of this out!
