Cooper's poop is weird this week. HELP.
So he eats solids and I think for a day or two he really OD'd on Mum Mums and got a little backed up. Then skipped a day of pooping, and then the next two days his poops were like adult poops - really formed and solid. It didn't seem to bother him to push them out or anything.
Then I gave him tons of veggies and fruits to try to clear him out and now yesterday and today he's had a "regular" baby poop and then these really watery green ones in between. It's like they soak completely into the diaper, with a few chunks of things left behind - sorry, I told you this was TMI.
Again he doesn't seem unhappy or anything. He does have a really snotty cold right now. Not sure if that has anything to do with the poops. And he's drooling like mad - maybe some teeth??
It's just weird.. do I worry or not? WWYD?
Re: TMI baby poop question
Hmm... I dunno. Lila's poops are always going back and forth between the solid, adult-ish kind and the really loose, messy kind. I figure it just has to do with what she's eating from day to day, because she never seems bothered either way.
I'm not sure about the watery green stuff though. It may very well be all the extra mucus from his cold.

As the mom of a baby with poop issues, I know way more about this than I ever wanted to.
The last time we were at the doc for poop problems with Max, she explained that the color of poop varies based on how long it's been in there...from orange to yellow to green to brown to black. So when they are sick with a tummy bug, that's why it's often yellow/green, because everything is going through really quickly. Our last visit Max had some hard lumps of poop in his tummy so we went to lots of prunes, no starches, etc. The pedi said that we might see some watery stool yet (he had had a tummy bug a week or two prior) but that the hard poop still needed to come out. Based on all that, I'm guessing that Cooper is a-okay...he probably did get backed up, you upped the poop-promoting foods and that's what caused the greenish watery stuff but also helped the hard poop move out.
Just a guess, hopefully he gets back on track soon!
When DD is drooling like mad she has green poops. Her pediatrician says its from changing the PH in her digestive tract. Not sure about the other issues...has he had a lot of bananas lately? Those tend to stop Natalie up, and she has harder adultish poops for days after.
Hope it clears up
This is also what Kristi said at parent/baby class, excess saliva can cause lime green poops... We've had them too.
