I already have 20 BG 3.0 One Size diapers, but we need more diapers! These currently don't even last us one day!
I really like the flip system (from looks, don't have any). I'm trying to stay away from pockets or sized. So...should I get the flip system by BG or prefolds with covers??
How many inserts/prefolds and how many covers should I get? I'd like to order asap and I'm on a budget as well.
Thanks!
Re: Cloth diapers: Which ones and how many?
I'm not sure why 20 BGs don't last you a day so it's hard to know how many more you need. We have several dozen prefolds of various absorbancies and 5 Bummis covers. That lasts 2-3 days.
She is 9lbs now. She was born 6lb 3.5oz and far to small for the BG's but she has grown so that the waist and legs fit so there are no leaks, although she doesnt fill out the butt area.
I think part of the reason she is going through so many is that she got a terrible diaper rash from the disposables we had her in until she fit the BG's. We're doing all we can to clear it up, and it is going away, but still whenever she gets the slightest bit wet or poopy she screams to be changed poor baby.
I know you said you'd rather not do sized diapers, but I can't imagine using one-size prefolds. Its a PITA to fold them down in the front or back to fit a baby that is much smaller than its really intended for. If *I* were you, I'd order 2 dozen yellow edge prefolds from Green Mountain Diapers and 6 small covers. The yellow edge lasted us until DS was 4 months old, when we moved up to red edge (the next larger size)... and by then , I only needed a dozen to rotate in with our few fitteds and pockets. By the time she gets that big, you might only need the BGs.
