Headache Help Please... :(

Is anyone else out there suffering from annoying, not too severe headaches?  I have had a nagging headache for the past three days and nothing I seem to be doing is helping.  I have taken tylenol once or twice but I don't want to keep taking it.  Not sure if it is the heat, stress, or a combination of both.

What do you do to help with the pain of headaches when you get them?  I just want this headache to go away. :(

This!  Are you drinking enough water/fluids?

  • Agree with PP, water, dark, and sometimes a soda (or coffee) helps.
  • My MW suggested drinking a Coke. Caffiene does make a world of difference and is totally fine if its not all the time

  • My OB also said drink more water and add a small amount of caffeine (like a small coffee or something). Unfortunately I've also just had to take Tylenol a few times a day until it goes away :(
  • Thanks everyone!  I have been drinking a lot more water and fluids in the last few days. (It has been really hard for me to drink only water so I made a big pitcher of decaf iced tea).  I have a history of headaches and I usually take Advil but have not since I became preggers.  I am trying to find other headache fixes so I appreciate all of the helpful suggestions.

  • Last night I had a fever, a headache so bad i vomited pretty severely so i called L & D and they kept me until about 3:30 am and told me I was dehydrated from the heat... maybe try a cool compress and up your water intake? They have me on "Take it easy", and drink more water.
  • I have found water helps a lot. And eating. I had such a pounding headache the other day and I ate, drank 2 bottles of water and a small coke and it went away within half an hour.

I had one today too and drank 3 glasses of water and it went away.

I have also used a heating pad on my face and neck, which has helped sinus headaches. Or ice packs.

  • Know the feeling, it sucks, I turned all the lights off & wore sunglasses in my house & laid down. I heard that Vick's vapor rub on your forhead helps, haven't tried it yet because I haven't had a headache since hearing that but I did buy some to try next time. Sorry, feel better.

  • Cool compress to the forehead or back of the neck. I had one so bad that I actually iced my forehead and it helped a lot.

Other than that, I agree, more water. With all the heat we've been having you may just be dehydrated.
