I can finally post this!Anyone have a sling or wrap they like for the pool? I was thinking about getting one, now that I have two to manage at the pool, but I don't seem to see the solarveil ones I used to see on the hotslings or zolowear sites.
I know there will be some who disagree, but I recommend you take another adult with you the first time you try to manage an infant and non-swimming 3yo at a public pool. IMO it's not safe, even if you sling your infant. I think you'll be too distracted to give your older child the full attention he'll need to stay safe in the water.
Thanks - appreciate any tips anyone has, as I want us to be safe. I did have DH with me over the weekend and will have him with us this weekend. I am thinking the first time we go without DH, I will restrict it to the shallow area and will hopefully have my sister in law there.
Did you go at all without extra help? Any other tips? I'm sure we won't go as much this summer, but I do want to go somewhat regularly.
I like to wear DS in the pool because it keeps his face up by my face (I wear him higher than I would on land). The little rascal likes to try to plunk his head in the water, so for us I think it's safer to have him in the sling than any other way.
I have taken both to the pool by myself, but our pool is not busy at all (read: we were the only ones there), we spent most of the time in the baby pool, and DD wears Stearns Puddle Jumpers that keep her upright very well, plus she is not adventurous and likes to stick right beside me.

My solarveil sling is from wallababy.com.
