Newbie needing advice for VBAC doc
Hello! My name is Candi and my FI and I are expecting. We just found out that I am about 8weeks, but not 100% sure since I haven't had a doc appt. yet. I have had 2 previous c-secs from the birth of my kids in a previous marriage. My 1st was an emergency b/c baby was too big. 2nd was mandtory b/c he was born 17mos after the first. It has been 5yrs since my last child, and I am desperate to find a doc who still does VBAC. At home birth is not an option for me or my insurance. I want to be in a hospital just in case something happens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm actually living in Brenham, so something on the west or northwest side would be about as far as I could drive.

There aren't a lot of doctors in Houston who do VBACs at all and finding one to do a VBA2C will be even harder, but you might try talking to Dr Hector del Castillo and Dr Kerry Kirkman. I know both do VBACs and I know that Dr del Castillo will at least consider a VBA2C. I don't know if Dr Kirkman will do it, but she is located up in Cypress so it'd be easier for you to get to. She delivers at Methodist Willowbrook. Dr Del Castillo is located in the museum district next to Park Plaza Hospital and delivers at Memorial Hermann in the Med Center.
I saw both OBs for my last pg. I switched from Kirkman to Del Castillo because I felt like Kirkman was too busy (long waits, cancelled appointments), but I did like her as a doctor. I like Del Castillo too and had a successful VBAC with him.
