First haircuts in Central PA?

Looking for a kid-friendly salon/barber/etc. to take my son for his first haircut. We live in Hershey, but haven't come across anything in this area. TIA!

  • We take our son to Kidz Kutters in Lemoyne.  It's small and nothing fancy (they put on videos for the kids to watch during the haircut but no fancy airplane/other object shaped seats like I've seen some people post pics of).  DS's hair grows like crazy so we've been taking him since he was 9months old.  Amy is QUICK and she does a great job.  They give you a cute little certificate for first haircut.

  • The Mane Difference in Mechanicsburg is where we've started going (have gone to Kids Kutters too and thought it was good). But we switched to the Mane Difference because they charge one dollar per year of the child's age. So Adam's cuts are $2.00 (plus a pretty generous tip). They're also good with kids and super quick.
  • Rachel, thank you so much for posting!  You're always full of great resources!  Amy knows how to cut Ethan's cowlick (sp?) well but we'll try Mane Difference to see if we can save some $.

  • Well don't judge by the hair in my siggy photo. That was from when he still hated haircuts and we were trying to only go twice a year. The last one was MUCH better for all of us!
  • If you really want to drive far, Gee Gee's in Lititz is super cute!
