DH and childbirth class

We have childbirth classes tomorrow all day. I am kinda excited....not expecting to learn a whole lot for myself....but I am sure that I will get some things out of it...if not, at least some peace of mind.

I am super pumped to have dh go through them since he has absolutely NO CLUE what is going to happen when I go into labor. He thinks that he will be chilling out watching TV while I am laboring....boy does he have another thing coming! He isn't trying to be insensitive....he is just honestly clueless. I am excited for him to see what it will/could really be like and what his role will be. Now if he could just be a little more excited about going it would be great! Big Smile He is even less excited knowing that these classes arent 'required'. I am thinking that he will have a change of heart after he gets there!

    I was actually pleasantly surprised with how much I did learn even though I read and research EVERYTHING! My DH was clueless as well. My favorite was when he told me he couldn't believe how long labor could last. Oh boy!

    We did the all day class too and it started out with a "natural childbirth" video, it was pretty explicit.  We had trouble keeping it together during the breathing, and relaxation exercises, giggling... it was pretty informative though and our instructor was funny, kind of crude and honest.  We were both glad that we did it!  As a bonus we played a few games and we are both really competitive and won lots of diapers!

    We are actually very excited about the classes we've signed up for- I actually a little frustrated that I have to wait until July for them!
