~Julie~

Hi there!

My mom and her FI are tossing around the idea of getting married in Italy.  I know you got married there as well---any tips/advice you have for me that I could pass on to her?  Where in Italy did you get married?  TIA!

Re: ~Julie~

  • ooohhhh yay for them!! We were married in northern Italy. Lake Como specifically. It was awesome. Getting legally married in Italy is a bit challenging due to paper work stuff. It can be done though, i suggest she get a planner to help with it. Everywhere in northern italy is beautiful. All the towns around lake como are so cute and quaint. Bellagio, Lenno, Como, Menango, there's more.... they are all great. Milan in more metropolitan but they have some beautiful piazza's that would be fab for a wedding and it's more convenient to the airport.

To get to the lake you have to fly to Milan or Swizerland and take a train then a boat ferry (it's worth it, but you can't schedule an early return flight). My planner was AMAZING and she does weddings in milan, rome (also AMAZING), tuscany (have not been there) and the lake distrcit. She took us to a lot of sites on our scouting trip, but she can also do everything over email by sending large color photos. She speaks great English and is really affordable. She'd be able to give your mom tons of options for big and small weddings in all price ranges. She is happy to work with any budget at all.

She can also advise about time of the year they wantt to get married and which location would be best the month they pick for weather and stuff. I'd suggest she e-mail her

Sabina at Forever Amore Weddings. foreveramoreweddings.com. Tell her Julie and Ron say Hi! We love love love her and her assistant.

If your mom has any specific questions Id be glad to help too. Italy was a great choice for us. We had 30 guests, but even if it were just the two of us it would have been perfectly romantic and amazing.

    :)
