4 days until baby and still can't agree on name!

Don't get me wrong, I like the name DH picked out too (and he likes the one I picked), but I honestly think it is going to be a fight in the end for whose favorite we use.

I like Juliet/Juliette Nicole, he likes Mia Nicole. *sigh* Let's hope she "looks like a _______" even though I don't really believe in that.

Well they usually give the birth certificate papers to the mom at the hospital to fill out... so... LOL How mean do you want to be to your DH? *bwahahahahaaaaa* (that's my evil laugh).

That might actually be helpful! See, I keep thinking that they don't sound good together, but maybe they do. Nicole is my sister's name, my SIL's mn, and my grandfather was Nicholai which is also my Dad's mn, etc. HOWEVER, we were going to use a family name for DS's mn and changed our minds at the last minute too.

When my DD was born we didn't know A) the gender till she was out and

had two of each gender names picked out and not finalized. So we didn't name her till quite a few hours after she was born. I knew she was a Sophie when she was born though and I got to first look and stare at her for a while. So you'd be surprised at how they may very well LOOK like one name more than another! Eeek, so close! We hadn't even discussed names much before DD was born. We were team green but we were each supposed to write a list for boys and a list for girls and then we were going to discuss it close to the due date. That never happened so I had the lists in the bag and we were going to talk about names while in labor to pass the time. Well, that didn't work out either because she was born so fast - 6 minutes after I got to the hospital! From the time my water broke to the time she was out it was 2 hours and in that two hours believe me, we didn't even think about the fact that we never talked about names. LOL. When she was born my H said "what do you want to name her" and I told him what my # 1 choice was and he agreed. She really did look like a Natalie, LOL and she fits the name perfectly

I'm not sure about this but I don't think you can leave the hospital without a name (although I could be totally wrong) so don't worry. At least you have it narrowed down

Who picked your DS's name? I told my H that since I picked DD's name he could pick this baby's name - though I'm pretty much joking. GL to you!!

OMG, 6 minutes after you got to the hospital!!! Good for you and picking a name sounds like it worked really well for you guys.

Someone told me you have a year to name your baby, but I refuse to leave without a name! DS was going to be Parker Jay (DH's choice) or Connor Jay (my choice). Then he was born and DH was like, scrap the Jay as a middle (sounded too much like OJ with Owen) and let's name him Owen (both of our 2nd choices) Parker. We don't have a 3rd name this time. LOL.

we didn't name our girls until day 2 in the nicu, and it was late in the day. already had the names picked out, but wanted to see them babies. i really think audrey looks like and audrey, and same for vivienne!

fwiw, i love juliet/juliette, though mia is pretty too.

DS wasn't named until about 15 hours after birth. The lady kept coming in my room asking if I filled out the paperwork and I kept telling her to come back.

I love both names. I say wait until she is born and see what she looks like. We ended up using a name that wasn't even on our list.

Don't worry. We ended up not using any of the names on our list and didn't name Adam until 2 days after his birth. I'd say wait to see which, if any, feel right.

We had 4 or 5 top names before DS was born, and no consensus between DH and I. But DH and I agreed right away after we saw him. Everyone in our family agreed he looked more like one name than the others too.

If you're still undecided, you can always let her choose - you and DH can each try calling her name and see which one she turns toward. (With the unfair advantage that babies are more likely to turn toward their mother's voice...)

If this baby is a boy, that will be us. None of the names have sounded "right" to us. DD was always a Josie..always. But this baby? No idea. We have a girls name so for the sake of ease, I hope it's a girl lol. Otherwise it will be "baby boy no name" probably until after it's born.

FWIW I really reallly like Juliette.

Too bad your not married to my dh, he has loved the name Juliet for 12 years. It is growing on me so if we ever have another dd that may be her name. Lucky for me dh agreed to name our dd after our grandmothers.
