So, I realized a few days ago that my license expired...4 months ago! I went to the DMV first thing Tuesday morning to get it taken care of, but for now, I just have my expired license that they punched the word "void" through until the new one comes. (I have paperwork in my glovebox stating that I ordered a new one in case I get pulled over).
I went to Target yesterday to get a few things for a bbq we were hosting for some friends/neighbors last night, and I picked up some wine. I don't drink while pregnant, but it was for the party. I know I shouldn't care what people think, but I HATE the looks I get when I buy alcohol with my huge belly. The cashier asked for my ID, and when I handed it to her, in front of the line full of people, she said "This is expired. It says "void." I felt like an idiot college kid trying to use a fake ID. It was already bad enough that I'm 8 months pregnant. She called a manager over to look at it, and he said "I can tell you're 30", and he put in a special code to allow me to buy it.
I'm not sure whether I was happy that he let me buy it, or sad that he "could tell I'm 30." LOL But the entire situation was more than a little embarrassing.
Re: Slightly embarrassing trip to Target yesterday
Yikes!
Isnt it just ridiculous that they wont accept an expired photo idea of you. Especially when you look just like your picture. I mean obviously its me in the picture and thats my birthday and signiture.
Why is an expired photo id an unnaceptable proof of who you are?
Well, I will admit that more than one of my fake IDs in college was someone else's expired license. So I kind of get it. :-)
I hear ya on this! Though I think if you have a credit card or some other form of ID as well it shouldn't matter...
