Pregnant after a Loss

Those with male dogs...

Do any of you have issues with your dogs marking inside? We've tried everything besides locking our dog up at night/while we're gone.

I'm getting so sick of cleaning the floors & couch/chair every single day.

Any suggestions?

Re: Those with male dogs...

  • our dog used to do this when we first got him... on time, he peed right on the vacuum cleaner, right in front of us. even now, if we're in someone else's house (especially someone with pets) we watch him extra carefully. but for the most part, he's seemed to grow out of it. is your dogs new to the house? is he neutered? are there particular objects/locations he's going after?

  • Is he neutered?
  • Our girl dog is like that (since we got her at 4mos and goes only on the floor though). We've had her almost 7yrs and one trainer and our ex-vet actually said she's just retarded...we don't see either of them anymore. The only thing that saves us is that she'll go on the puppy pads. So if we have to leave her for over 3hrs we put down 2pads. Doesn't stop the screaming when we're not there though....

  • He's 2 years old, neutered, he's been our only dog our house since he was brought home. I did notice this happening tho shortly after my BFP. This can't be jealousy?! Were getting a crate and are going to try that. I'm at my wits end! I just don't know what else to do.

  • No, it isn't jealously. Dogs don't have that emotion.

I would suggest crate training and/or keeping him tied to you at all times so that you can immediately redirect him to outside when he tries to pee.
